Every other day you gonna be hearing about another George Zimmerman. If you look at Chicago's murder numbers you will realize most people who are killed are young black males who are involved in gangs/drugs. Stop tryna sprend myths that people can't even walk the streets with out getting robbed or killed. I lived in Chicago for over 5 years and it's not dangerous if you not involved in gangs/drugs. Plus Chicago has been getting safer for years now why would you want more citizens arming themselves.

Initially im sure there will be some people who are confused by the law and their bloodshed coupled with actual legit examples of lethal self defense will serve as a warning and have a calming effect on the people. Whats being done about all the people that are getting shot so early in the summer. People need to feel safe and if they arent going to increase a police presence with feet on the street similar to new york then citizens need to be able to defend themselves. Im glad they see this and thankfully you arent a law maker. You would give the schools some new books and scratch your head when people are still getting Shot.

The people who are getting shot are gang bangers and drug dealers. This permit idea will not lower that number it will actually increase it when you add the new George Zimmerman cases. The only way to lower it is through better economical/social changes like lowering taxes on business in the city, giving more grants to schools, firing incompetent teachers and administrators. You just tryna cop out and shoot suspicious looking black youths to fuel your hate. Just move down to Floriduh where it's legal to kill unarmed black youths if you really can't help yourself.We can do your solution, as well.
In the meantime, while we wait for the effects of better education to bear fruit, citizens need to protect themselves. Not everyone who lives in poor neighborhoods is a gang banger and no the people getting shot just arent gangbangers. There are Many innocents being hit with straybullets and victimized in robberies. Not sure why you're against people protecting themselves. The police arent protecting them. They clean up the mess. You sound disgusting. You say these are just gangbangers but tell that to the young lady who sang at the white house and then went back to chicago and got SHOT!

Yea its the people around them when they buss in broad daylight that will be doing the killing. No more broad daylight middle of the sidewalk kills like that because granny might be in the cut with that 38 special, and thats a scary sight. This will force criminals to keep their dealings where they belong, Underground.
this wouldnt change anything or it will make the violence worse...whether people are trying to steal or trying to avoid being robbed;;this will only lead to folks shootn at each other over pocket money...im sure folks in the chi [criminal and law abiding] are already strapped so i dont see this making anything better...
It would be "typical Liberal bullshyt" if it wasn't supported by the vast majority of studies we have on the subject. You can continue to play ostrich/play Cops and Robbers and other vigilante fantasies, but all the information, not to mention logic, is against you here.
