I don't like this definition because it doesn't make a distinction between a gun fight, where mulitple perpretrators(not victims) are shooting at each other and getting hurt. Versus One dude shooting random innocent people. It basically just means if multiple get shot it's a mass shooting.
So when army soldiers get injured or killed in battle, they weren't casualties, they were just victims of a mass shooting? nah
Multiple guns were found on the scene, implies this was a gun shootout between multiple aggressors. Doesn't make it any less senseless though

Once all the "definitions" are sorted out, to make some people feel better about what happened, the results are still the same..

So I'll changethe title to "another shoot out in Chicago" from mass shooting.. How would that make you feel?

Just think the root cause behind one or the other needs to be addressed differently, For instance if it was a shootout the result of drug deal gone wrong. Can we prevent it legalizing some shyt, reducing jail times, Or maybe it was just one nut with a bunch of guns, can we prevent another by require stricter background checks, or giving easier access psychiatric treatment?
makes it easier to actually address the problem it labeled correctly, instead of just yet another shooting to be forgotten by the next news cycle.

A lot of the victims of shootings here drive themselves to non trauma ER hospitals.. Imagine being a nurse, not trained on gunshot victims, dealing with a gunshot victims..
