There is probably a deeper issue here.
It is easy to talk about gun violence and gangs and all that.
But I think Chicago is one of the most segregated major cities in the country. And opportunities are limited for a lot of people.
Fix the economics and you fix the city. Everywhere you have a lot of poor people with no hope and no pathway out, violence follows. It isn't a coincidence that wealthy areas have less crime.
