From I’ve gathered is that the situation is bad, but largely over blown. There’s a really strong and educated black middle class there, but much of the violence is condensed into a small radius.
At the end of the day, gentrification, non livable wages for working class individuals, and limited upward mobility are the root cause of the issues.
The systematic disenfranchisement of black individuals didn’t start yesterday, so expecting generations of inequity to be undone overnight, suggests just as much primitive thinking.
