Man, 29, shot while driving later crashes near 79th Street on Dan Ryan Expressway, police say
A 29-year-old man crashed his vehicle near 79th Street on the Dan Ryan Expressway after he was shot while driving in the first block of East 99th Street, Chicago police said.
The shooting happened about 3 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of East 99th Street. The man heard shots and felt pain. He then proceeded to enter the expressway and crashed around 79th Street, police said.
He suffered wounds to the right thigh, right arm and right upper back. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where his condition was stabilized, police said.
Earlier, Chicago police and Illinois State Police said shots were fire, but it was not clear who had jurisdiction.
Later Thursday, ISP sent out a statement saying the CPD was in charge of the investigation, and announced closures on Interstate 94.
According to a spokesperson, lanes were closed on the northbound 79th Street ramp to northbound 71st Street while officials investigate. On Facebook Thursday, many reported hearing gunfire, similar to an AK 47 in the area.
CTA Red Line trains were bypassing the 79th Street Station due to police activity and shuttle buses were available from Garfield to 95th.
I've went to every local news outlet and barely a peep.
Black Death is accepted, the fact that Chicago is allowed to continue on is a testament. National guard should have been called in years ago.

Nah..there's been more than a few incidences on 57 out by Markham/ CCHIlls, on 290 on the west side, and even on LSD. There was a shooting incident damn near right outside my place on LSD at Fullerton not too long ago. There was an incident on LSD at Belmont and the victim drove to Walgreens on Broadway to get help. Think both of those incidences involved Latinos though. But it's been widespread and all over.
You can check my other post and see for yourself what I support. Fact is black folks will keep dying as violent people kill innocents in pointless gang violence. There needs to be an outside force to maintain peace for at least 3 months, give people a chance to breathe.

I don't have a solution for the shyt. I can only protect me and mine, and stay out the way. I actually agree with you, that it's not the location that they're in, it's the mentality that they'll take with them because that's all they know. Nothing has worked thus far. I'm from Baltimore, so I know how bad this shyt is.
