It isn't an overnight fix. If we want to see safe communities and real economic change, then we have to invest into these communities and rebuild them.
You cannot expect a young black kid to do better if they don't have any hope where they currently live. The reframing of segregation has lowered black people's economic standing and PRIDE within themselves and out communities. The mindset needs to be how do we buy back the block and create for our own to where they don't feel like they can take another man's life because they don't have anything to live for anyway.
That's where our energy needs to be.
