Technically, because this city has a history of crime going back to deep mafia ties. Check old papers and before it was blacks being watched, mafioso were headliners locally and abroad. Chicago has a bad rap and national news coverage increased around the time drill music went national. Just remember, it's a world-class city way above most other "murder capitols" so it stays in headlines.

And the fact that it’s isolated in certain pockets of the city. The vast majority of Chicago land area is peaceful as it’s ever been... I be seein cacs walk dogs and shyt at night now in areas I never saw whites in the 90s. All of the worse projects and row houses been shut down and demolished. Places that were a no man’s land for outsiders ( if you weren’t from or knew somebody that lived there ) don’t even exist anymore to my knowledge. None of these “violent” weekends compare to what used to go down in the past. Yea it’s bad but what do people expect when that’s what we been doin for decades, like the shyt is about to just stop overnight...it’s trending down regardless and spikes up like most things In life.
