Because it's President Obama's hometown. Before he came into the white house I never heard about the violence in Chicago. I was in Chicago back in February, in particular the Southside, and never felt any danger and had a great time. Saw nothing but black people. Everyone I encountered showed love. One of my uncles and my godfather live there and they always said that the media overhyped the violence there.

Obama''s presidency is probably the real reason tho, but that drill shyt is what spreaded the whole "Chiraq" thing due to hip-hop being the most popular form of entertainment in the known universe
"Media propaganda" is the greatest weapon ever used to manipulate the image of an intended target/place/ group of people.
It has worked to perfection regarding Chicago to us outsiders.
