between this and to a slightly lesser degree When They See Us, every docuseries based off actual events is gonna have to step their shyt up bigtime going forward.

also, as much as i want to watch more, this is the perfect length of a tv "season." The Brits have always had it right. 5-8 episodes is plenty. no filler. no worries about bullshyt sindication. now that we live in a streaming world I really hope we stop with the 12-20+ episode seasons, even for half hour comedies.

Wonder how they were able to retrofit something like that and did they die:jbhmm:

Masterful.

Everybody involved in the show's creative process did their thing. From the writing, set design, research, atmosphere, all the way down to the music. They kept shyt tight from episode 1-5 with little to no slip up while making you feel the magnitude of the situation.
The official podcast is amazing

Estimates are that the death toll was anywhere from 4,000 - 93,000?

:mindblown: What a fukking gap?

The official Soviet death toll never changed and sits at 31.... :snoop:

Powerful ending. I don't know why, but this epilogue hit me especially hard. I think seeing Legasov and Boris for real hit home. The detail about The Bridge of Death is what sent me over the edge.
:mjcry:

Simon one of the GOATs...powerful cosign.

Finished episode 3, this is the dopest shyt this year so far. Crazy how this came out of nowhere and knocked "GOT" out the box.

To the people like :dahell: "how could they not know how dangerous radiation is"....I'm older than most of this board and my grade school would have drills during the early 80's to prepare for a nuclear attack....we'd just hide under our desks. :mjlol:

Yes, I'm 100% serious. Back then most people had no idea how dangerous radiation was. It's damn near unimaginable (especially if you're young, and was raised with literally the entire scope of human knowledge at your fingertips, via the internet) that this was the reality of things back then, but it definitely was.
