That dosimeter sound when it's reading radiation is something that I didn't know could be so somber, lol. Had me on the edge of my seat when the men were on the roof. I knew breh was bout to go out like that though. He was fumbling out the gate before even getting in the game.

Ulana noble as hell but she trippin' trying to go up against the KGB. But I mean, somebody has to do it. They out here with 15 more reactors just like it and the same thing could happen with those graphite tips they fukked up on. That's been just about everybody's story though..."somebody has to do it" and it's costing people (and babies) their lives out here in many ways. Here's looking at you puppy killers :mjcry:.

Man fukk NUCLEAR POWER. We as a planet need to come up with a better power source. fukk all that. I realise there's benefits to it, but my God, we could destroy this planet with that technology. fukk ALL OF IT.
It's actually extremely safe compared to the alternative forms of energy. We fear nuclear power because of the total destruction it can cause at a single moment, but that reality exists now with fossil fuels.

We're short sighted and shallow. It's the climate change argument. If I told you that there was a chance that space debris would impact a city and wipe out 250,000 people you'd spend the money on a missile defense system. If I told you that your usage of fossil fuels would kill 250,000 people you'd set up a committee to discuss the discussion.

Look at the coal miner and firefighter situation from this perspective. Firefighters, or smoke eaters, from the past have extremely high rates of cancer because they didn't wear SCBAs in the past. Coal miners have extremely high rates of cancer too. But we're going bat shyt because Chernobyl has completely wiped out their "chance" of living a cancer free life. We're simply reacting to the grotesque scenario's on display.

compared to the other 3, episode 4 was kinda light to be honest.
NO.

You're just getting used to it and are somewhat desensitized at this point. I'm sure 4 was heavier than episode 1 and 2. Maybe 3, even but watching the hospital scenes in 3 was rough. But as the show progresses you become desensitized to the emotions of it all
How good is it brehs??

I'm getting tired of cats popping up in here and asking this exact same question. Just watch the show, breh. It aint for everyone but give it a try. I
f it doesnt grab you then :manny:

:dahell: how are YOU going to tell ME about how I feel about the episode :dead:. It's not being desensitized, I just felt it was kinda light in comparison to the other episode. I never said it sucked.

Excellent show. Seen the 1st 3 episodes. Once I got over the whole English speaking thing. :mjlol:

Quite gripping. I always heard about this happening but never paid attention when it did back then.

:whoa:
I was just suggesting that. I know thats how i feel about it now. The episode was more gruesome than 1 and 2 IMO but at the same time i feel like i've gotten used to it so it has less of an impact

:pachaha: it's all good. I do see what you mean as far as they've probably shown the worst that they'll show so anything following the gruesomeness of episode 3, feels like a "let down". I just wish they had the foresight to give us 8-10 episodes. I mean, they could still do that next year cause there is SOOOOO much to cover, but i'm not sure it'll have the same impact as "season 1" would have.

I did like this tidbit about the accents from their podacst (siap)

Speaking on the show's official podcast, Craig Mazin said: "The decision not to use Russian accents was a big one that we made early on.

"We had an initial thought that we didn't want to do the 'Boris and Natasha' cliched accent because the Russian accent can turn comic very easily. At first, we thought that maybe we would have people do these sort of vaguely Eastern European accents - not really strong but noticeable.

"What we found very quickly is that actors will act accents. They will not act, they will act accents and we were losing everything about these people that we loved.

"Honestly, I think after maybe one or two auditions we said 'Ok, new rule. We're not doing that anymore."

Fun fact the Soviet unions version of Disney land was to be opened the next day before the reactor blew.

Havent watched the show yet, judging from the comments it seems like a well done show. Seen enough documentaries in the past.

Bhopal gas disaster in India was even a worse tragedy than this chernobyl thing. Eventually poor countries would face such disasters, they can't run shyt like that.
