I'm gonna let y'all in on a secret. The refs aren't staring at every player bringing the ball up. Way too much other shyt off the ball to be worried about that.
Yeah he said that’s why he had a brain malfunction, paying attention to something off the ball:
"I think at the same time, I was watching the underneath play, and KCP and Donovan got into it. KCP started to run, and Donovan bumped into him, he fell on the ground," James said. "I think I was ready to pass the ball, and my brain just kind of just, I had a malfunction. I really had a malfunction.

"I feel bad for the refs on that one because they'll probably get a write-up on that or something."

Maybe, just maybe, you have far too high of expectations when it comes to officiating basketball. If they've NEVER had what you consider to be competent officials, maybe the officiating isn't the real problem.

Have you ever officiated high level...fukk, even low level basketball?
Ah the usual "you're criticizing it, but I bet you can't do better if you tried yourself" argument. :skip:

Do better dumbass. If a pilot crashes a plane because of incompetence, you don't go "Oh well, flying a plane is really hard, bet you can't do any better." :ld:

fukk no, you throw that guy in the bushes and get somebody in there who CAN fly a fukking plane. Same thing here, if these officials can't officiate shyt, get them the fukk outta here and find people who can. NBA is a billion dollar company, they could easily figure it out if they wanted but just don't want to.

You've completely missed my point. People think all officials, at every level, are terrible. Because even the best officials are going to make mistakes, sometimes egregious ones. It happens. A perfect official doesn't exist. Just like perfect players and coaches don't exist. If that's your expectation, then you're NEVER going to think the officiating is good enough. The suggestion that the league doesn't try to improve the officiating is complete nonsense.

As far your pilot analogy, that's absurd. A more apt use of that comparison is that NO ONE thinks they know how to fly a plane better than the pilot in the cockpit but EVERYONE thinks they could call a better game than the official on the floor.

When I asked if you'd ever officiated, I didn't mean that you can't criticize them. But rather, if you have officiated, you'll absolutely look at plays, calls, etc differently.

My only experience officiating was during a summer jamboree with all high school players. The gym was super hot like 95°. Kids was trying to bribe me by bringing me stuff to drink between games....lol!

Aren’t you an official? You been caping. You’re like the Stan of officiating.

im willing to give you the benefit of the doubt... link me to some of your posts in the harden/dunk thread.

Yes, I work HS and JuCo ball right now.. Which is why I'm more concerned about why calls are missed than just ranting about poor judgement, which isn't necessarily undeserved in many cases.

This play, and the Harden play just aren't cases of poor judgement. In this play, the ref just wasn't looking at it. Pretty simple explanation. Ideally he'd have at least some focus on the ball handler, but it's not like we're at all expecting any NBA player to do that lol.

With Harden, it was a freak play. I've never seen that happen...but we've all seen it go in and back up thru the net a few times. Harden didn't know what happened either, which is why he chased the ball like a rebound. I don't know the ins and outs of the NBA replay rules, or what was or wasn't requested by Dantoni. If they misapplied a rule, then that can't happen at that level.

It goes both ways.

if you gonna egg knowledge one you gotta egg knowledge the other.

that’s what I look for to dismiss obvious bias. Even the NBA addressed it.

if the ref wasn’t looking he fukked up. The point is you don’t know because the other refs aren’t in the shot. Then add to that superstar calls or them basically not caring.

You just capping cause you in that field.

I could imagine the mental gymnastics back when Tim Donague was doing his thing.

egg knowledge it :mjlit:
