Charlie’s Angels reboot flops hard; only makes $8 mil opening weekend

i just watched an interview last night where she said men need to have some "fukking empathy" and go watch more movies with women. every attempt to scold male audiences that i have seen (ghostbusters, star wars, etc.) seems to have failed in the past. i wish she had just marketed her movie better because she is talented and it is harder for women to get second chances.

Why didn't women all over the world go to see this movie? They never want to call each other out, so they blame men and use asinine reasoning.

No one cares about the franchise.

Barely anyone cared about the 00's reboot. It had huge names in it and they marketed it using sex appeal so it did better. But it certainly had no significant cultural impact for anyone to care in 2019.



This isn't a men thing. Men don't dislike strong female characters. Did men have a problem with Sarah Connor, Ellen Ripley, The Bride, Buffy, Dana Scully, Jackie Brown. Arya Stark, Hermione, Daenerys, Clarice, Katness Everdeen, or Foxy Brown?

No. They were good characters that were written well and were in good movies.

We want good movies and are tired of wack recycled properties. Don't give a fukk if women or men are in them.

It's been said but only star power could've saved this and they had none. They needed at least a Margot or Scarlett, but they're not hurting for roles so why would they ever sign for this?

Who is their target market? Chicks aren't into action movies in general. Guys aren't into ensemble action movies with all girl casts typically.

Couple reasons this flopped:

1) Clearly terrible advertising. I may have seen one trailer for this 3 days ago.

2) No one asked for this in the first place. The last two Charlie’s Angels movies were in 2000 and 2003.

3) In a franchise that’s based on seductive sexiness, one of the lead women casted are one of the least sexiest most boring woman on earth. The only people that think Bella from Twilight is sexy are fan fiction writers on tumblr. She doesn’t have an ounce of sex appeal. And she’s not a very good actress either. She embodies boredom.

4) Lack of overall star power. Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska (had to look their names up) just don’t have a big catalog. The bulk of Kristen Stewart’s catalog is the Twilight franchise, and for the demographic Charlie’s Angels is supposed to hit, that doesn’t even matter.
