What Banks is saying is insulting to audiences, though. She's the one copping lame feminist excuses to why her movie shyt the bed at the box office. Maybe people, both genders, just didn't wanna see the same old generic regurgitated bullshyt, especially considering all the good movies out now (Parasite, The Irishman, The Lighthouse, Dolemite is my Name, Hustlers, etc.) Hustlers, in particular, is a movie starring women and had feminist themes that did well at the box office AND it was an R-RATED movie.

There was no race changing, all the main characters were either white or half white so....it was a white movie, who cares.

Between this , the Ghostbusters reboot, and The new Terminator all flopping and the backlash against the new Star Wars triolgy, hopefully Hollywood will get the message and stop with the feminist agenda they've been relentlessly forcing on us

But I'm not jumping on the "making movies staring women is lame" bandwagon some of you are.
I thought the new terminator was fire it's the only once since Judgement day I'll ever purposely watch again.
And the new Ghostbusters was really funny to me, it kept the spirit, had a good cast, besides the initial backlash, did people actually see it and not like it

Superhero movies are almost the only thing that make money. And even with that, the backlash is long overdue given how many movies they make and how similar they all are.

Gemini Man flopped too. Nothing about race or not showing up for original movies.
It got bad reviews and nothing exciting except for the GGI. People sniffed it out and didn’t show up.

Super Hero movies, comedies, the average horror films and original movies make money. Get Out was 4.5 mil to make and grossed 255 mil. The Purge franchise in general has banked a ton of money with very little start up money. People simply go see movies they find interesting, and Charlie’s Angels didn’t have an ounce of appeal.

You're taking me much too literally. The trend is clearly downward for everything without a Cape attached. Obviously it's much easier to make money if you lower your budget but cinema theaters are on the way out in general.
