Exactly I have no idea why people think Texas should be OK with losing seasons three years in a row.
I ain't saying he didn't deserve it but they were on Mack Brown neck every year for a decade. I was trying to understand their overall entitlement.

He did good at Louisville. There are guys who can coach at the huge schools and guys who can't deal with the pressure and politics of it all. It's for real levels to it.
The entitlement comes from the fact that many people down here still believe Texas HS football is far and away superior to anywhere else in the country. Reality is many states/regions have caught up to us.

Was listening to some sports radio in Austin and they were saying how Texas football talent is overrated. is that true or are other states just catching up?

If A&M fires Sumlin and goes after Larry Fedora (College Station native) I wouldn't be mad if we brought Charlie to Chapel Hill.

Made worse by the program not supporting him. Rich Rod wasn't a good fit but if he had gotten that 4th year he would have had Michigan winning, no question. Hoke came in and won with Rich Rod's players that first year.
Strong had to go but the nonstop chatter this year clearly impacted the team. Especially these last two losses.
The last 5 years, there has been a big shift on the high school level to the pass happy crap you see in the Big 12. Now nobody plays defense and there are very few pure rushing attacks on the 6A/5A level. I believe that has soften the players coming out of the state but that's my personal opinion.

Charlie Strong was a steal your white wife dude in Louisville. Somehow he got away with it and got promoted to the Texas job.
I can't recall another black coach getting these kinds of breaks... and he still squandered it
