There is. No post play, damn near every play starts w/ a pick, no middies, a lot of non chalance.
80s and 90s had no more variety, respectively. The trends and styles of play was reflective of those periods. PGs rarely ever looked to score, bigs rarely ventured outside of the paint - all teams played like that. An overwhelming amount of teams would play inside-out. 90s was oversaturated by ISO ball because of the illegal defense rules.

That's the common misrepresentation I hear about today's game is that every team plays the same. The NBA has been no different in that capacity.

That aside, because today's game is essentially positionless, there's naturally the variety of having a team like Denver who uses a center to set up the offense all over the floor, using every type of action imaginable, then a team like Memphis who moves as an ant colony on offense, then a team like GS who moves the ball to turn a good shot into an even better one, then a team like Mavs who will ISO you to death, and then bring you back to life just to kill you again with ISO.
And yes it would. They don’t shït on everything. They’ll speak on what they fw fr. And their legacies are cemented, they don’t have to do all that.
Wilt shytted on MJ and the 90s, why did he feel the need to do that if his legacy was cemented and there was this supposed variety in the game?

That’s different tho. Wilt wasn’t on a panel every night, getting paid to speak on players
It speaks to the nature of NBA players.

They're always looking to downplay the generation that succeeds them.

That panel is designed on cracking jokes, not making objective observations and analyzing them. No amount of variety is going to stop Chuck and Shaq shytting on players, teams and the game. Chuck is the same cat who said "jumpshooting teams can't win a championship", and then has essentially been doubling down on that notion ever since. Which funnily enough, has been the menality of a lot of NBA fans.

My #1 gripe with the NBA is the inconsistency of their national broadcasting schedule.

Take tonight for example. Friday night is usually ESPN's night to broadcast NBA. There are at least 5 great matchups tonight:

Celtics vs. Rockets
Knicks vs. Thunder
Cavs. vs. Mavs
Spurs vs. Nuggets
Hawks vs. Lakers

None of these games are on national TV. Why? :yeshrug:

PUT THE fukkING GAMES ON TV :damn:
I assumed Knicks Thunder was on ESPN:wtf:

That’s fukkin wild

Thank god for league pass

Knicks/Thunder & Hawks/Lakers are on NBATv, but the NBA counts NBATv as a national broadcast

We don't need Inside the NBA to tell us the games have become 3 point shooting contests. Blaming them for pointing out a fact is weak. Overall, the NBA is more talented than it was 20 years ago as it should be. As all sports league are and should be. But unfortunately the biggest part of this improved talent is 3 point shooting. Everybody including 7'5" centers are shooting them. For some people that may be entertaining. But one thing I know for sure, when the NBA skyrocketed in popularity, the game wasn't like this. It has regressed in terms of exciting play. I still love the game but I would be lying if I said it is as entertaining as it was in the 90'
This.

Also i watch the NBA nightly. Charles opinion (which i find entertaining btw) not changing that. I can think for myself.

The NBAs rise in popularity was tied to MJ and left once he retired
