At the bold, sure sometimes. But remember that just because something is "true" doesn't mean it's absolute if that makes sense. Just because something is true doesn't mean that is all there is to it. There are reasons well documented by history as why modern Black folks are where we are today. And some Black folks understandably get upset when someone suggests something negative a Black folks out of context. This is because it makes Blacks look bad unfairly. This is doubly true when a Black person holds such views because it reinforces outsiders usually uniformed opinions.

I'm not accusing Charlemagne of any of this as I didn't watch the video. (Listening to music) I'm talking in general. Hopefully I explained this well.

okay, you couldnt have said it any better..I always view posts here and threw it out there to see what responses i woud get....but what you posted was probably the realest response I got on here since I been on the coli, and thats a year and a half

Hip hop is only a fad if you're a casual fan. I hate when music elitists try to talk down on rap as if cats like Talib, Pac, or Lupe (admittedly a smart dumb nikka sometimes) couldn't go toe to toe in intellectual debates with artists from any other genre. For every Wocka Flocka Flame we have an Immortal Technique, but you know who doesn't want to hear Immortal Technique on the radio? The mainstream. Who comprises the mainstream? Mostly white people. Hip Hop is a culture, you're not too old OR smart for hip hop, you just were never that big of a fan
I get what you saying, but Immortal Technique is a horrible example. That dude is legit garbage
