Soak the chips in water for 30, then get some super duty aluminum foil and wrap the chips in that. Throw the packet over the coals. That's for slow smoking. 250-300 degrees.

Also, I personally only smoke the first 30-45mins

Anything higher temps, buy wood blocks.

:ohhh: that sounds crazy....

I would never disrespect the meat with a gas grill

Grilling to me is like smoking weed, it's the full experience that I appreciate...lighting the coals, controlling the fire, the flavor...and like y'all said wood chips take it to the next level

Make sure y'all soak ya chips in water before you put em on the coals

Even kingsford is much bettter than a gas grill flavor wise. You can control the temp better, you can cook indirectly with charcoal.

Gas is nice and convenient but there's certain things you should never use it for. Ribs is one of them
I do ribs slow. Slow cook bbq is only done with wood at my house.

We still using wood from our backyard on that slow shyt for salmon, making fire burgers when we got more company...
I understand someone else who doesn't have a big ass backyard or a DECK to get busy on :yeshrug:
Charcoals if you have any say in it otherwise tho :hhh:
