Wish I'd bought tickets to this game. FedEx Field isn't even 15 minutes away from where I live.
Not gonna lie, Washington scares me. Not so much their defense, which isn’t good. If Hurts can replicate his play from last week (or even the week before, where he was also good) then the Eagles shouldn’t have a problem moving the ball. Eagles have the offensive line to beat their pass rush and open running lanes for the RBs. The wide receivers shouldn’t have a problem beating their corners.
But their offense…
Scott Turner is a good OC. Wentz isn’t night and day different than he was last year, but he’s been productive with an offense and an offensive scheme that plays to his strengths. Colts tried to limit Wentz to keep him from making his mistakes, and didn’t have a lot of pass-catching weapons, but Commanders are willing to let him sling the ball all over the field. And that’s the way Wentz wants to play.
Combine that with an elite downfield wide receiver in McLaurin, a promising rookie in Dotson, a great underneath guy like Samuel, a very good tight end in Thomas, and two solid RBs in McKissic and Gibson. That’s a very explosive offense. As we saw in Weeks 1 and 2, they can put up points in a hurry if Wentz has time.
I still like the Eagles in this game, but it could be a shootout.
