to be fair, you and me watched that knowing it was his manifesto on why he wanted it removed. They went to a comedy show with no idea what he was gonna talk about or where he was going with it.

I mean, he tells 2, maybe 3 short stories in a row about being fukked over, not even in a funny way. Then he says “while I’m doing SNL, out of nowhere the show that you all know I left under dirty circumstances is announced to be streaming in 2 different places” and they start clapping and whooping.

But I’ll be fair and see it from your point. They didn’t know where he was going and we did.

Dave fukked up by not adding the rerun profit in his contract. Seinfeld did that and his show was before Dave’s.
Would streaming count as a rerun?

And I'm not sure how early syndication payout negotiations begin. Seinfeld was damn near canceled in the first season, I doubt he had the leverage to get an amazing deal that early.

It wasn't until Seinfeld became a loved show that Seinfeld and Larry David could demand a ridiculous amount for syndication.

I think they each had 7% in the initial deal. When it was time for renegotiations, they doubled their share.

I just watched dave's diatribe on this.

he signed a bad deal with comedy central for chappelle's show which is totally on him. and whomever can air his show as long as they pay viacom.

that said, the ONLY reason that netflix pulled his show is not cuz they are nice guys. they are too worried about pissing him off and NOT getting any more original stand up specials. so when dave talks about netflix being nice guys, it comes off as disingenuous. netflix simply knows where their bread is buttered.

damn I love that show but I won’t stream it anymore

why not? I have HBO, and I'll stream it on there. or I'll stream the DVR's I have of it on youtube tv. I paid for all that shyt.

plus, as a netflix subscriber, he's getting my money anyways. I don't feel bad streaming chappelle's show as long as I'm already paying netflix anyways.

I guess the 50 million was supposed to compensate him for the shytty contract for the first two years. When he refused to do season 3, they kept the contract as-is.

this here. ya'll can talk about him getting fukked over on the original deal, but he is the one that walked away from the 8 figure payday when he had ALL the leverage at the time. he probably could have gotten full control of the show at that point. CC would have done anything to please dude.
