I don't get it. Does he expect for no black people to do any sketch comedy on Cc ever because they're copying him? He's acting like that one guy in a room full of whites who gets upset when another black guy walks in.
I like K&P.

I like K&P and while they were certainly trying (on both sides between them and CC) to create something similar to the Chappelle's show it wasn't really a rip off.
In fact, they really kinda honed in on what made Dave a cross over hit...being able to relate to/resonate with white people. It's just that with them being bi-racial it was a little more organic and theorfore corny...shyt they make fun of themselves and how their racial make up/experiences kinda made them awkward and they were doing sketches that black folk would probably be puzzled by. I love comedians/stand ups like I love rappers so goofy, absurdist humor isn't foreign to me so I could appreciate them even though they were hit or miss.
But yea...that's really the biggest similarity to me was that they were tapping into "White" humor. I know nikkas that don't even like Dave Chappelle' because he's not a Corey Holcomb/Kevin Hart type comedian, they think he's corny. You can tell that while he's definitely black and conscious of it he had a lot of white friends so he can navigate and it's why he was able to create such a whirlwind with that show.
That's the thing...what if he didn't really leave by choice?

Did everybody kinda miss the fact that he was telling a joke?
Like even if there was some truth/legit agitation behind the statement it was still a fukking joke, one that was probably in people's heads before he sat it on the table.
Hell Amy Shumer aside from the interviews reminds me of Chappelle even moreso than K&P.
But Key & Peele are corny enough to see that as the ultimate compliment. They do way too many cross dressing skits.

Countdown to Armageddon
Chappelle Show was such a monster hit because it was exactly the right show at exactly the right time. He also left it short and sweet before it wore out its welcome, so its remembered extra fondly through nostalgia. Obviously K&P cant fukk with CC at all overall, but they have some hilarious, classic sketches too, just like Dave had some duds in there that no one really remembers. I don't think he has like, exclusivity on black comedians doing sketch comedy

Key and Peele was dope. They got they strengths as well. For one they got to actually realize more skits than Dave because he left too soon and 2 they are both much better actual actors than Dave Chappelle and thus much more rounded.

Nobody can. so how does that make key and peele less funny. When nobody has come in and straight up snatched the role Chappelle left behind?
