I was going counter your argument with this but you did it for and somehow think you're right?
How is she a bigger star if she's never been top billing in a single movie?
because she gets more coverage outside of just movies. she gets invited to all the a-list galas and events and is highly photographed and interviewed at them. she's on the covers of vogue, elle, essence, glamour, instyle, O, people magazine (amongst others) - these are all some of the highest circulation, most popular magazine titles. She's a cover girl (or some other makeup line) spokeswoman, she's modeling for designers, etc. So no, she doesn't have the lead in a huge movie on her resume yet, but she's more famous

She's easily a bigger star than both of them. She doesn't have a track record of opening films, but that's because she hasn't really been the lead in anything. Even taking that into consideration she's a bigger star because she's been in bigger movies than both of them, she has an Oscar, and she's regularly on magazine covers. The average person knows who she is when they see a picture of her or someone mentions her name.

Michael B Jordan is is a tier below Luptia, mostly because he was in Chronicle then Creed and before that he had roles on critically acclaimed television shows (The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood).

Boseman was a virtual unknown when he got the lead role in 42, and they made it a point to cast Harrison Ford as the co-lead. Boseman was the lead in Get On Up, but hardly anybody saw that movie, then he had a small part in that Gods of Egypt movie, but again hardly anybody saw that. The biggest movie Boseman has been in was Captain America Civil War and while he was great in that his role wasn't huge. He doesn't have enough of a resume to be considered a big star. He's just now getting mainstream awareness because of his involvement in Black Panther

Boseman took the MJB route, he was in a bunch of television roles before he went to movies. And he absolutely KILLED his role in Get On Up that’s what got him on the radar as a serious talent.

The ranking tiers are legit, although I’d say Lupita and MJB are in the same tier because even though Lupita has the Oscar, MJB has the box office. He’s proven he can carry a blockbuster (Creed) and he’s proven he has dramatic acting range (Fruitvale Station). If Fruitvale would’ve gotten the same push that 12 years a slave got MJB might have an Oscar to his name as well.

I think of the three that Boseman has the capacity to have the quote unquote “better” career because he proved with Get On Up that he can act his ass off and if Black Panther REALLY blows up then he’s shooting straight to the A-list

More famous and a bigger movie star are two separate things. Prince William is more famous than Chris Pine, but he is not a bigger star.

Well I think it's clear when the other poster calling her a bigger star wasn't just talking about her filmography. And being more famous does kinda make you the bigger movie star...if you listed 50 names across athletes, musicians, and actors and said cirle the movie stars, more people would identify her than boseman

I don't remember what the other poster was talking about, cuz you quoted me several months after the fact. I assuming I'm still making the same point. But no being more famous does not make you a bigger movie star. Kim kardasian is the most famous person in the US and her movie appearances thus far have mostly been cameos. They're not offering her any headline roles in anything.

I'm talking comparing two people in the same line of business....she's the more notable actor. Kim k is simply a celeb who happened to have been in movies. As for her not getting lead roles. It's harder to be a lead actress than actors and exponentially harder for a black actress...

To be honest no longer care about this... Why did it take you so long to reply? Move on

:what:

Lupita Nyong'o is famous specifically because of her acting. She was an unknown, got a role in a great film, then got an Oscar for that role.

It's also worth noting the films Lupita has been in are bigger than the ones Boseman has done. More people know her from 12 years a slave, Jungle book, and Star Wars than people know Boseman from 42 or Get on Up.
