come on man these are disney/marvel flicks all we can hope is that it helps but those aren't what I would consider movies with original screenplays

But since you brought up GOE we don't know how large his role is and that may be another where he has a major role. He is getting work and has talent that is being recognized, if all his big budget films make money he'll be in a position to start picking any role he wants for prestige. Denzel and Will Smith didn't start out with the clout they have now.

I hope showing up in civil war helps his career because it's kind of embarrassing how he's played Jackie and James Brown and not only did no one see those flicks but his performance wasn't praised like that. He needs to flip it before he comes a lifetime movies guy that just does low budget biopics

42 cost 40 milion and made 95 million and was in theaters for 4 months, 42 was well received. Get On Up not so much.

Can't speak for 42 but I have seen get on up and the cac director didn't know what he was doing. It was a mess and it's quite a Herculean effort to make a biopic about James Brown and not have an ounce of soul
