8 might be the number fellas.
Yea...it'll go to 16 before it goes to 8, unfortunately.![]()
Anyone with a functioning brain knows this and has been saying so since the beginning. They're gonna kill off interests in the sport in the way the NBA (at worse) or the MLB (at best) where no one cares about the overall product and only tunes in for their team only.
NFL playoffs, NBA’s regular season, college basketball, NHL hockey regular season. It's not the brands or game....it's timing.
Playing the Natty on January 20th is dumb. You got MLK Day hoops. Plus, most people have mentally moved on from CFB by the end of the first week in January.
They gotta start the season a little earlier and make it so the Natty takes place between Jan 1 and maybe Jan 7th. Once you get past that, it's all about NFL playoffs and people checking on on college and NBA hoops.

Nah,break it down the south’s TVs always on football. The South/SEC fans said fukk it
They struggled with wanting weekend games for TV but also with trying to schedule the games on New Year's Eve/Day where a game like the Rose Bowl is set in stone. While I agree the problem is that the expanded playoffs demand a longer schedule for games, and most of the games were not engaging. And I don't think the ehhh ratings really matter to the committee in the context of more games = more advertisement = more money.
The bye week teams had was ridiculous. PSU played in the first round on December 21st, then didn't play their next game until December 31st. Ten days. Why lol.
There were times when the Rose Bowl wasn't played on the 1st back in the BCS era (2006), or if it falls on a Sunday... but ya the rose going to pitch a fit if it has to be worked around. They struggled with wanting weekend games for TV but also with trying to schedule the games on New Year's Eve/Day where a game like the Rose Bowl is set in stone.
Why not just have Army/Navy play to kick off the season, that way it opens up that last week for playoffs to start. We gotta move on from wasting an entire saturday with Army/Navy. Not only does no one give a fukk about that game, but it can potentially have playoff implications. Like you said, they should start with the first round, that weekend right after CCG, and then the winner of the conference won't have some stupid long layoff before they have to play again, b/c that was clearly no benefit as all the teams with a bye, lost.
If only Ohio State had the motion USC had this seasonBoth teams got no motion if we being honest
Move it where ever...I won't be watching regardlessWhy not just have Army/Navy play to kick off the season, that way it opens up that last week for playoffs to start.
I'm honestly surprised they don't have it week 0, ain't like there's any other big game that week. Have all the patriotic shyt at the beginning of the season so the the playoffs end the week of New Year'sMove it where ever...I won't be watching regardless
Make it week 0 so it it gets the full attention if they want, but where it is now is just a pure waste of time.
It's b/c that game has been played late Nov/early Dec for a 130+ years. They might not want to change it being played late in the season, which is on them, but it 100% doesn't need its own weekend.I'm honestly surprised they don't have it week 0, ain't like there's any other big game that week.
