When Taker was out, Cripple H benefited the most. He couldn't be who he was if Taker was around.There was a long stretch where Taker wasn't around between 99-00, he could've done very well during that period.

That's obvious though. People complain more when shyt is either not good at all or as good as it could be. If he held his own or even exceeded expectations, it's a completely different segment and everybody would be talking about how great it was (and probably picking sides for who to ride with).
All of the examples you used of worked shoot promos (Punk/Cena, Miz/Cena, Miz/Bryan, Usos/ND) worked well because both sides went off the script but were able to dish as well as they took it. Roman couldn't hold up his end of the segment and people are complaining accordingly.

I think reigns can bounce back tho..he didn't really say anything that hasn't been said to cena already in his promo but showed some aggression/emotion which he normally doesn't do..
If it ended after Roman's promo, I'd agree somewhat. But after that napalm Cena dropped that may be the most memorable part of the feud regardless of what else happens.

Yep, been saying this is pretty much all it comes down to. He shines when he has minimal words to say, and when he takes action. I don't get why WWE haven't realized this yet or just want to turn him into something he's not, if they are on the fence about Roman being the guy let the man play to his strengths.
