Interesting... explain this in more detail?
The directors & writers wanted viewers to see that black Americans are capable of being racist (which is something white people try to argue about).

The people behind the show subconsciously has an agenda to paint Black Americans as racist while naturally being intelligently/mentally deficient compared to Africans, which some Africans (do think) such as Abishola displayed by insisting that the Black woman's son wasn't going to amount to anything compared to her's using his grades as an example.

No one believes that Akata is a positive word. Foh Tryna mock our intelligence. :camby:

I honestly don't care what you believe; Akata used to have (and still has in some spaces) a positive meaning. You probably didn't even know that word existed 20 years ago.

1. I wouldn't say this is reflective of all Black folks and it's foolish to think so.

2. You don't think Black folks can be hateful like white folks? I don't like the term racist because no one Black can be racist but hateful and xenophobic, yes in my take. I really don't see the issue. To me, jungle bytch is really African booty scratcher and his response is one of hearing ABS. So for me, it's resonated. It's clear it didn't for you but it did for me. One of the writers is an American born Nigerian who basically put this out as well. Are you saying she is lying? Why is it so that most of us who have that blood or a part of it feel a connection and resonating if that wasn't the case?

3. I don't think for one second Calvin respresents every Black American, descendant or not. Not for one second. But he does represent ados and c00ns. 100% He sounds like those stupid ass ados nikkas on thecoli. He is created in the image of Yvette, Tone, Tariq and c00ns on thecoli. I do believe that. Black Americans are some of the most gifted in the world. 100%.

4. I took it as the obvious. Calvin, bytch ass nikka causing trouble and his ain't shyt mother trying to defend it like the dumb bytch she is. Abishola, being the good mother she is, defended her son, wanted to know why exactly would her son respond in that manner, found out, told the dumb bytch off, checked her dummy son for his lack of purpose and kept it g. At the end, she lost and punished her son but it was a learning lesson and she was proud he stood up for himself.

Where in this did you get that Africans were superior to the Black descendant population in academia? I just saw a dusty mother and a good mother. Nothing more, nothing less.

If the shoes were flipped, I would see the same thing. Would you?

You don't understand the implication of that phrase? White men used that term to justify raping and brutalizing Black women. That is the sexual fetish angle behind that shyt. Do you not understand American history? You never saw them dressing up black actresses like Josephine Baker, Lena Horne and Eartha Kitt in those so called "jungle outfits"? You never heard of "jungle fever"? Don't you get what what they are saying? That is some White boy sexual fetish shyt referring to Black women as jungle bytches. Again I have to say that I am surprised as Hell to be seeing "so called" Black people justifying this stupid shyt; which makes me realize that the rumors about thecoli having White posters pretending to be Black people is actually true.

Yes, I understand the implication of the term and it is degrading and dehumanising to black women. What you don't understand is that the origin of the term "African booty scratcher" stems from white people. You say that it's an AA term but I know for a fact that it originates from white people.

The image of African people as "booty scratchers" comes from white people and it was used to depict Africans as uncivilised and savage. These were the same sentiments that the European slave traders and colonizers used as an excuse to rape black women and torture black men as well as colonise various African nations.

I don't understand how you can't see this.

I dont not like the disingenuous nature fat ass Antonio's moore and the microwave Google scholar tariq nasheed paints this picture of west africans using this derogatory term to describe blacks in america without 1st placing it in proper context on when the word was used how often it's used now, and also acknowledging that black americans disrespected continental africans for decades coining the phrases african booty scratchers and jungle people that many immigrant africans will attest to being called this here in america but not none of these folks pushing this akata thing can produce any evidence of them or anyone else they know being called akata by anyone from africa

I worked for a decade next to many continental africans I was never called akata and never heard the term until tariq went c00ning. I've been to Ghanaian weddings, I've partied with Nigerians, I attended african festivals all over this country, again I was never called akata. Not saying it never happened but pushing this like the disrespect is one sided is what makes this disingenuous. Its self hatred shame and pain on both sides. It's wrong to act as if its only one way.

Meanwhile back at the ranch white folks got a whole lotta derogatory terms for black people and a black person can testify to being called that either on social media or in person every dam day but these tap dancing spineless c00ns will just ignore that fact slap on a american flag and go along to get along. Let's throw a billion africans away because of a derogatory term, but let's beg and persuade white america to accept us here and ignore being slaughtered here on the principle of "we built this" while not benefiting from a damn thing you supposedly "built" smh

Only show I watch on CBS is......The NFL on CBS.

ADOS and Africans sometimes get along but other times have beef. This show would have been a lot more interesting on a cable network and if it involved an ADOS dating a Nigerian. You could explore the cultural differences and similarities and how each navigates. There would be plenty of think-pieces but also a chance for us to find common ground. Get some Nigerian, Ghanaian etc. born/raised writers with some ADOS writers and you'd have a really interesting show.

This show has one (Gina Yashere) Nigerian-English writer while the other writers are white. That alone is a problem just from the Nigerian perspective since there's so much diversity within that country alone.

If you understand the implication then that is the end of your analysis.

I didn't know shyt about "booty scratcher" until I read that shyt on thecoli. So I definitely can not explain where it came from or what it means. However, that jungle bytch reference has a historical connotation. Those White male writers knew exactly why they put that shyt in the script. It is part of that White perverted sexual fetish shyt that they have for Black women.

Why does it sometimes seem Nigerians in particular are dead set on making other black people hate them. Its literally always them talking shyt.

It's funny af. They'll be crying about Somalis being racist towards west africans one minute and then in the very next breath be shytting on AAs for no reason.

nikkas are annoying as fukk.
