According to statistics, women initiate divorces 80% of the time. So since 80 is more than 50, imma go with women being the cause of divorce.

Basically. If you're broke and your wife decides to pull the eject cord on your marriage....you might as well just kill youself cuz you'll have no money. It's a decent deal if you're a crafty bytch.

:whoa: we weren't struggling, but living in pricier cities, eating out, buying whatever we wanted, driving nice cars, traveling, student loans.... it adds up.

120k in 99% of america as a household your doing better than ok.

only like 15% of households in america make over 100k

Financial problems are not just because someone has fallen on hard times. It's mismanagement, living above their means, or just flat out lying about what they are doing with the money.

I guess the example I had in my head was when I went to go look at houses with a friend. She was looking at a foreclosed house and we got to hear part of the back story. The couple lost the house because the wife was not paying the mortgage. She was doing other things with the money buying herself things. Husband didn't find out until he found the notices. He just assumed she knew how to handle things like that.

I would not leave a hypothetical husband because we fell on hard times. I have been in a ltr and dude lost almost everything and I didn't drop him because of that.
Okay and she was gonna say, you know what hun, "i'm terrible at managing money, don't trust me with a single cent. GTFOH!!

:dahell:calm yourself. He just decided that she would handle the bills, he didn't check on anything. That's how it was done at his house growing up. He didn't back check anything. she told him she was going to school he just believed it even with signs she wasn't. No one flat out says I am bad with money. But if you have a conversation about money and what you expect it comes out. When you talk about what you can afford and the other person always wants something beyond what you can afford that's a red flag.

Edit; @BillCosbyAteMyHomework

Because you can't plan life. You set up an emergency fund., a life saving etc. Then you hit hard times for whatever reason. That shyt gets depleted then what? Or you never even had time to build a significant trust before shyt went bad. And sometimes people do dumbshyt to jam themselves up and even when they try to recover circumstances don't let them recover "plan" and all.

I don't understand how you can say that discussing it doesn't help.
With that logic, why discuss anything ever?

Eh, your stupid. The hell difference does it matter if she was shopping at Nordstroms or Rainbow and doesn't matter what we can afford if she's spending the bill money.

Live beyond your means brehs. Since we came from being together while he was in school, and I was in my first full time job, we thought we ruled the world with that kind of money. He was driving a porsche, I was in a new wrangler, taking trips (only within the US but still) at least every 3 months, and so on....

You live and learn. That was a great lesson. The next- money isn't everything. Learned that one too.
