I'm sorry cat's kill primarily vermin, It can't be helped if domestic cats are built survivors and can survive in harsh environments. We need to neuter our cats though.

Cats=They are perfect predators. We had two housecats growing up. When we let them outside, they went
status. They would stalk birds, squirrels, snakes, and tear their heads off with ruthless efficiency. Didn't matter that they were housecats. Those innate predatory skills.
I don't let my cats out because we live in apartments. Our side is full of ferals and the other side I kid you not is controlled by one female cat, Tiger Lily. She on some Griselda Blanco shyt.

they've found that in addition to murking too many local species, cats ingest and digest a lot of poison when they roam free through neighborhoods.
the real solution is to keep cats indoors. most of mine have stayed in only and been perfectly fine. not at all interested in going outside, even sitting right in front of an open door and just staring at it like
if this info spreads and people still feel the need to have their cat experience the outdoors, we're gonna see folk walking cats on leashes every evening just like they do dogs now.
