They already do extortion. And thats just a drop in the bucket. They make more money stealing gas

Exactly. They already do all sorts of crimes that aren't directly related to selling drugs.
It doesn't seem like not selling us as much weed has hurt them one bit. I'm sure they would adapt to not being able to sell hard drugs too.

craziest part is 1) that those cartel mfers blood is probably 50% cocaine during this shyt...think about how much more effective of a soldier you can be if you have literally no fear and 2) think about how some of these cats are the ones who are sealing your driveway, doing your new bathroom renovation and cutting that big ass tree in your back yard.
Fearmongering ass bullshyt

You still haven't shown me a statistics(if you did I would have admitted I was wrong). The article I posted said the city of Rio being safer than Compton came from a Brazilian official. So his words not mines. Either way I said that since 2016 the crime in Rio could've have gotten worse. But more importantly I am addressing the city of Rio and not the state.

Homicídios caem 21,5% e mortes envolvendo policiais sobem 16% no RJ, diz ISP

They would adapt and exist in some form, but it would definitely ratchet down the violence and the scale. These guys whole war chests are funded with drug money.

It would be like the old american mob vs the modern day mob. They exist but theyve had their fangs taken out.

Released him. Made the whole government lean back. :picard:
That's influence and power. They're not doing any hymn singing and flower bringing without retaliating. That's why the policia leave them the fuk alone and know not to even enter their territory or communities. Fuk all the kumbaya, hugs and kisses shyt. Take the life of or hurt one of ours, get your head chopped off and mailed to your family.

No, it wouldn't, European and Asian, and Australian markets are huge, profit margins way better, but obviously US has proximity. It's a myriad problem of multiple issues between multiple countries, US and Mexico, and South America, institutional corruption, poverty, these are extremely complex things, and there are no easy answers or solutions. The foundation for this was set 70 years ago, and then the US scalped Colombian drug cartels, and thus transferred power to Mexico, who in turn grew far beyond what Colombians ever were.

I will say it is a false premise that this is NEW, it's new for Culiacan, that is very true. Also, there has NEVER been a major target captured in Culiacan, this was the first attempt that I know of, by US intelligence/DEA assets and SEDENA, to snatch someone in Culiacan like this. This is always the concern.

Cities like Reyonas, and Matamoros have seen this over and over again. Or in, rural Chihuaua, there are gunfights between the military, and rival groups, with 30 trucks each. 4 years ago Mencho's people shot down helicopters, when they got too close to the boss.

That handshake video is puro Sinaloa, I kind of love it on some level, there are many cultural implications about respect and pragmatism.

The cartels aren't giving up that easy money. If the US made coke and heroin legal, they would just move on to extortion.
RIGHT, BUT THEN YOU'D HAVE A VIOLENT CRIME PROBLEM, NOT A DRUG PROBLEM.

WHICH WOULD BE MUCH EASIER TO DEAL WITH, AS THE ONLY DEMAND FOR EXTORTION COMES FROM THE CARTEL THEMSELVES. YOU KILL THE SUPPLY, YOU KILL THE DEMAND.
