This is empty TV. There’s nothing well-written about any of it. Every character is two-dimensional; it’s no more than scenery porn with a backdrop of a whodunnit from the cutting room floor of The Bold and the Beautiful.
The fact you’re trying to say otherwise and use it as a reflection of your real life is hilarious. Especially if Ethan really “hits home” for you.

Not sure if White intended this as a subtle parody of cliches people use, especially last few years or so, but when Ethan says "work's just been insane", in defense of his lack of sexual interest,
We haven't seen this guy take a single work call the entire series. He has not mentioned it once lol
I like nice hotels, and I have stayed in a lot, in US, Mexico, Europe, probably not for 3 weeks at a time but I've been in that milieu. Edition Hotel in South Beach, Hotel Costes in Paris, Hotel Omm in Barcelona, Ritz Carlton in Laguna and so on, and I would have never got involved in any of this mess, because I was always out in the streets in the cities. T
When I was in Barcelona, my Iphone health thing said I walked 38 miles in one day and 23 the next. Travel for me is getting lost in the city, wandering around the cliffs on the coast of the Atlantic in England watching the waves, grabbing a coffee in some remote corner of the world, walking through the colonias in Tonala, Jalisco, and yeah hit a Michelin star for dinner, buy Ferrgamo slippers in Cannes, I did all that too, but the way a lot of people travel is just so self possessed and flat to me. Massages? Drinks at the pool? Where's the thrill in any of that? I think they find it in the mini dramas they create.
But, with only a few exceptions, I traveled alone.

I find the criticism to be a bit much, the first one was also "over the top" in many ways.. that doesn't take away from the realism in the writing when they want to explore those themes.. that's why people like it because it's ridiculous but also grounded in a lot of truths.
