He just came at a time where Duncan, Dirk, and Garnett were still in their late prime to take one spot while pre-prime/prime Bron would take the other spot and then when the older guys dropped off, KD entered his prime and locked up that spot. It is what it is :manny:

He was a better scorer and way more efficient in Denver. George Karl had him using his size to bully dudes in the faceup game. Got to the line consistently.

NYK he devolved. Scored more, but took a dip in efficiency and a lot more long twos, not even sniffing the paint. Wasted his prime years in NY and developed a lot of bad habits that almost put him out the league years later.

Melo by far is my favorite offensive SF, in his prime anyway you wanted it he can score.

Melo was just playing among some of the greatest of the great at his position and will be somewhat forgotten as time goes on somewhat like Dominique Wilkins in the 90's. But to me both were good enough to be number one options on contenders but played during a time when some of the greatest players and teams ever were dominating. Melo had more than enough talent but the West was so deep can we REALLY fault him for not going as far as he did. Maybe if he had a Chauncey earlier in his career it would have made a difference.
