Dude won an NCAA title his only year in college, thats pretty impressive.

Consistently is top 3 in the league in scoring.

I think hes done alright, but at the same time im not sure he'll ever have success in the Playoffs due to Lebron James.

when will you guys realize that not every star or great player will win a championship due to a variety of circumstances. Doesnt say anything about the player though...stop trivializing the difficulty of winning a championship.

u need more than scoring to win the playoffs
like Dwayne wade and Chris bosh

Bu bu but he scores alot of points. Who cares if he doesn't play defense, pass, lead, rebound or do anything else :mjpls:
Got him further than cp3 anf Dwight Howard this year :ahh:
A leader, a consummate pro, a do-it-all type of player

And a 3rd round virgin :leon:

And it's funny watching people defend Karl but kill melo :aicmon:

Nobody is saying he's an underachiever because he didn't win a championship.

Beyond just the team aspect, even if you look at his accomplishments as an individual player they don't match up with what he was expected to do when he was drafted.

He's underachieved, and it's sad that some of yall are trying to argue otherwise.

I dunno fam.

As far as accomplishments for players in that tier there's only so many:

All-stars
Playoff performances
All-NBA teams
Scoring Championships

Sadly their can only be one scoring champion a year. In the West them Denver teams ran into some dynasties. Only one MVP a year and only one champion.

Lebron has had a monopoly on the MVP awards and in years he didnt win them...you have Derrick Rose, Kobe and Steve Nash during Melo's very early years. As far as NBA first team...he, Durant and LeBron are the same position. I'm probably forgetting another MVP but still thats tough man. shyt Kobe only has 1 and hes a top 10 player ever without a doubt. Circumstances come into play.

1 scoring championship :manny:
6 all star appearances
a few NBA 2nd Team appearances
Olympic medal or two

I mean hes a good player and obviously a hall of famer. He hasnt under achieved by any means. If you hate on Melo theres no reason not to shyt on Vince Carter, Chris Paul and a bunch of others.

What does that have to do with Melo being a one dimensional "star" who doesn't make his teammates better & loses in the playoffs at an alarming rate? :wtf:

Stop making excuses for that fat sack of shyt breh.

This is where I think some of yall get confused. Saying someone underachieved is NOT the same thing as saying someone isn't a great player or even a hall of famer.

Shaq is one of the greatest players of his generation but people even say he underachieved to a degree. It's not that he didn't have a great career but more was expected of him because of how dominant he was.

Melo is a great player, I'm by no means a "Melo hater" as I actually want to see him succeed and maybe one day win a championship, but he's underachieved considering how high expectations were. If he just committed to defense he's probably have made the all NBA second team more than twice and he'd be a perennial MVP candidate rather than drifting in and out of the conversation every 2 or 3 years.
