A subpoena will get you access to anything breh. Especially when the feds and secret service are involved.
Also her parents could have just handed over all the info if they were truly not in the know. If your daughter is potentially kidnapped, you are handing any info you can lol. She wasn't being searched for a crime so I don't think police really needed any warrants and stuff.

How did they get into a password protected phone?

I know they can do this. I’m asking how these details were leaked so freely and early.
There is a tool called cellbrite they can use. Also encase and FTK tool kit.nifbyou ever take a course in digital forensics it will scare the piss out of you when you see what can be recovered. Let's just say computers are forever

THEY SAID U.S. SECRET SERVICE
ANALYZED THE DATA ON HER PHONE.

THE FEDS CAN CRACK
ALL OF THESE PHONES.

They can crack it but I believe it’s incredibly hard to do, unless the tech has advanced since I last read about it.

I honestly don't think there was anything for the family to hand over. She was in the wind and everything of importance was with the girl. I know if I went missing my parents would be clueless as hell as to where to start.

:heh: they probably got the info straight from Google or Apple, we all know they store everything you do. The police probably didn't even need to crack the phone once the secret service got involved.

Not really. I worked in Augusta for ARCYBER and a few cats I got cool with who were going thru to be hackers proved anything can be hacked into. Also told me you’re a fool if you do any banking on a Droid and you making it easy for someone in the know to get access to your accounts.

I am not saying things haven’t advanced but I remember reading about Apple devices being particularly difficult to crack. So much so that the FBI took them to court. Why are y’all so convinced it’s easy? :martin:

Not difficult. Just takes a bit more time. They used to catch drill sergeants who was fukkin privates on base all the time with iPhones. Triangulating towers then tracking them from the locations from apps they were using on their iPhones. IIRC, whole process took anywhere from 3-6 months
