Nothing has been confirmed but we live in strange times, she and vikander just got oscars and are immediately thrusting themselves into blockbusters. There is no amount of muscle mass or weight these waifs can gain to make them look convincing in these roles. Larson is a safe pick for the studios and her. Post-Oscar win for woman is very spotty on the resume and being in a MCU or DCU movies is a guaranteed two-three movie check, they don't have to worry about. As long as she doesn't make a movie about a mop inbetween these movies, she should be good.

The movie doesn’t have a director yet but does have a script by Nicole Perlman, who co-wrote Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy, and Meg LeFauve, who co-wrote Pixar's Inside Out.

Marvel has been on the hunt for a female director to helm this most female-centric of their properties with names like Niki Caro (Whale Rider, McFarland, USA) and Jennifer Kent (The Babadook) surfacing as contenders, according to sources.

It is unclear where talks stand with Larson, but sources say she has emerged as the choice for the part. One source says negotiations may be underway.
