Isn't Ms Marvel (She's not the OG Captain so i ain't calling her that ) like a female Superman that can shoot laser beams?
Funny, DC can't call Shazam that either.Isn't Ms Marvel (She's not the OG Captain so i ain't calling her that ) like a female Superman that can shoot laser beams?
Get ready to see one in 2019. Resistance is futile. lolExactly. Superman is barely entertaining.. We don't need a female superman movie.
Hemsworth wasn't exactly a household name before Thor
My money's on Emily Blunt. But I wouldn't be against Natalie Dormer.
A few weeks ago, The Wrap's Jeff Sneider dropped a few interesting hints about the director (or one of 'em, anyway) he's heard is being lined up to helm the Captain Marvel movie, and the actress being eyed for the Carol Danvers role. According to him, the star is someone we've heard rumored in the past, and the director shares the same first name.
There have been several actresses linked to this character, but as far as we know, only Emily Blunt has ever been mentioned by anything even close to a reliable source, so we put our speculation hats on.
One of the directors we came up with was indie filmmaker and animator Emily Carmichael, who wrote, directed, and animated the Penny Arcade web series and has also written and directed several live-action short films that have screened in competition at Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, and Slamdance. Then today, we were given a heads up that Captain Marvel screenwriter Nicole Perlman had followed Carmichael on Twitter.
The original caption accompanying this image stated "on my way to a Disney meeting", before being changed. Again, far from irrefutable evidence that Carmichael is going to direct Captain Marvel, but definitely something worth keeping an eye on.
Was she? Thought it was just the internetsI remember when ronda rousey was campaigning to play this part
Brie Larson the Frontrunner to Play Captain Marvel (EXCLUSIVE)
After her Oscar-winning turn in “Room,” Brie Larson may be ready to step into the shoes of one of Marvel’s most popular female superheros.
Sources tell Variety Marvel is in early talks with Larson to play Captain Marvel in the studio’s standalone project. It is unknown where things stand in negotiations, but sources have told Varietythat Larson is the first choice, and that she’s leaning toward playing the part.
Marvel had no comment on the story.
No director is currently on board. Marvel, however, had always planned to have an actress lined up early, with the idea of possibly introducing her in one of its upcoming films before its “Captain Marvel” movie bows.
“Inside Out” scribe Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman are currently writing the script, which follows Carol Danvers, an air force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the super powers of strength, energy project and flight.
Kevin Feige is producing the pic.
Larson has been choosing both big-budget spectacles, like the upcoming “Kong: Skull Island,” and prestige films, such as “Room” and “The Glass Castle,” which she is currently filming.
She can be seen next in Ben Wheatley’s “Free Fire” opposite Armie Hammer. She is repped by WME and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
