As for the comics, Monica hasn't used that name since forever, long before Carol became Captain Marvel. Carol has also been getting the Captain Marvel push for close to a decade, the longest push I've ever seen, and also has ties to the OG Captain Marvel, the Kree/Skrulls who they really wanted to introduce. Why is that so hard to believe why they chose her instead of Monica?

How come when someone debates people on a message board they're "all up in their feelings' or "pissed off"? Why can't it just be a debate? Did I call you names? Did I cuss you out? Where are you getting the "pissed off" part? We're debating about a controversial movie that has people divided and I'm on one side of the debate, you're on the other.

I'm also a woman. Yes, I'm a black woman, but I'm a woman too. I can be both. I don't have to choose between being a cac or white woman sympathizer. I could just be happy as fukk to see a woman superhero because, whiteness aside, we don't get see that a lot. I don't have to choose between my race and my gender when something strikes a chord with me. This movie struck a chord with me, perhaps because of my gender. And that's OK. You don't have to understand or like it.
