I saw this on Sunday.
I enjoyed it. Didn't have high expectations for it, since the character is damn near unbearable in the comics I've read with her in it. (Civil War II was trash overall, but she might've been the worst part of it)
Took me a while to warm up to Brie Larson, but I think it's because she's not a natural action movie actor. She was cool in the scenes where she got to clown around with Nick. I think she'll grow into the role as future parts will most likely be written more to her strengths. In a LOT of the movie she lived up to the expectation that she can be a little cold (to the point that I'm convinced that her role in Scott Pilgrim was an inside joke she was in on), but some of that might have been by design.
Even my girl rolled her eyes at how Fury lost his eye. I get that ultimately it plays into the legend of Fury having a rep of being unfukkwithable, and that they (at least for now) can't go with the story of how it happened in the Ultimate Marvel universe (that this Fury is based on), but they could've done something better.
Overall, when I eventually end up watching it again as part of the Phase III set, I'm not gonna be ready to skip it like the first Thor movie, but not anticipating it like it's The Winter Soldier either.
