The difference though is that neither came in as the savior to the material. Why the hell is Captain Marvel of all people going to be the deciding factor against Thanos? I know Marvel had the 10yr plan for the MCU, but I truly feel that they saw the success of Wonder Woman and decided that they were going to Make Captain Marvel their top heroine. The problem is that Wonder Woman is an iconic hero whereas the only time Carol Danvers was a little entertaining was as Ms. Marvel.

We don't know if she will be the deciding factor yet. We don't even know if he is the villain the Avengers will engage in A4 yet.
They announced this movie before WW even had a release date. And I think the clue to her being their top heroine was her name.
Ironman and Cap were not beloved/iconic characters until the MCU made them that way. That's.part of the power of these movies/franchise.

Not sure if you watch anime but you atleast prolly seen a few DBZ eps. And until I see Marvel do a scene where she’s just standing there and Thanos (or whatever other strong enemy) punches her dead in the face or gives her a combo and she just stands there like on some Brolly, Final form Cell, Frieza or Jiren shyt

I’m not buying into it other they hype and talk.


Which you should do when you’re trynna hype something new! Adjectives pal; strongest, biggest, fastest, meanest, and etc

There was talks of making CM for years..... even before BP (that’s when I recall the initial heat towards her came and brehs was like why they gonna make a movie about a white girl before a black man).

They also want to bring more cosmic Marvel elements into the MCU - including Skrulls, Shiar(?), Eternals etc. They needed a space faring star esp. now that Guardians is up in the air. CM covers the WW-base in addition to the planned major shift in Phase-4.

I'm not excited for this movie because I don't like Carol Danvers and I don't like Brie Larson but this trailer was dope. I'll probably catch it during a matinee or possibly on kodi.

TBF i'll be watching it just for Samuel L and Mendelsohn, both are guaranteed to bring some fukkery to the screen

Also.... we probably gotta stop undermining the ground work that Marvel has been putting in with CM. She’s been active for quite a few years now. Kids who are Marvel fans who like cartoons probably been following her for a few years now since she’s been introduced on the Avengers cartoon show.

Until last years, there has been no consistent visual representation of anyone of that calibre since JL Unlimited and that shyt ended in 2006. Before that it was WW tv show but goes back to 1979 and most coli fans wasn’t even alive to watch that. Yes I know there’s been a few animated movies.... but they come every few years and I’m not sure they sold as much of the reach of a show on cable for free that airs frequently on a channel (if that makes sense).

Look, I get it. I myself didn’t even know who she was till a couple of years ago and I’m a comic book cartoon/movie fan. (Not so much comics of anything due to not really having the time for it but am familiar with many big event stories).

As for not buying into the hype I have a feeling they're going to stand by their word and really push her as being all powerful.

the skrulls look good and i don't know much of captain marvel other than she's strong, can fly and shoot shyt but i didn't know much about gotg and loved gotg 1 and they're now at the top of my favorite characters list. marvel rarely strike out on a movie so i have high hopes for this.

what would be dope is if this leads to a secret invasion movie.

I'm going to see it. I'm not even going to front like I'm not. I'm probably going to be there on Thursday. shyt looks bland though, and I'm not feeling Brie Larson. I like her as an actress, but I'm not feeling her here. It's not like Black Panther. Those trailers had nothing but style and swagger. These trailers for CM, and believe me that I'm not people that's like "Why are you shoving this PC shyt down my throat man?" But they're just scream, "I'm a woman and I can be tough and generic like the guys too."
