Brie Larson is miscast in this role. Just like Chadwick is. You know that unquantifiable quantity that RDJ, SLJ etc have large quantities of. That is what is missing with BL.

As powerful as she is, she never showed that confidence like that.
Thats why i always bring up Ms.America crackin that chair across her back.
She aint no fukkin boss.

You remember why she lost her original powers to Rogue while many others didn't.
Answer: Because she fought back so hard.
Anyway I am not arguing that she should be top dog and I think Brie Larson is miscast.
Marvel must know the weaknesses in the actress' portrayal (remember who they picked to display strong women in CACW and LC) but they are going with it anyway.
I mean, think about it... Rogue became a more powerful, BETTER, awesome character than Carol.
Off her own powers.
But with all that said, i still think this movies gonna be poppin.
Cause Captain Marvel introduces so much more with the intergalactic shyt.
That sad sack underdog stuff started when he came back from being impregnated by some omnipotent alien and then lost her powers and it carried over to Kurt Busiek's Avengers where he kept pushing Carol down so that he could build her back up.
But before the stuff with the alien baby and Rogue taking her powers Carol was a legit confident and badass hero.
She also was never this goose-stepping military a$$hole character that they have turned her into in the current comics universe.
Marvel has been fukking up her characterization for a while now.

Boseman was miscast.
Set up to play second fiddle to the real big dogs - currently IM, Cap and Thor.. soon to be Strange, Thor, Marvel and some of that Foxy lot.
Remember by the words of their own scripts: Tony is a Playboy (etc), Cap is "perfect [Aryan]" and Thor (as has been pointed out multiple times) "
is a Man / makes the ladies swoon". Boseman has been neutered in his alpha-ness. As have the other black characters as well (but that is a topic for another day).
Captain Marvel is coming in to "take that top spot/refresh/replace" (by their own words).
You will see ..

But Rogue had other powers plus that tragic backstory. And Rogue wasn't more powerful than Binary.
Hopefully they do the Skrull well.
I read somewhere that the budget is 150m which is a bit low for this sort of story.
Trailer was underwhelming as fukk. Might be one of marvels worst trailers.
