They are so second rate Warner didn't want to come out the same day so they moved Bats and Supes up a month.
DC is on their second movie Marvel their 13th they will never take anything back from Marvel.

You post a lot of BS in these threads. DC was doing the highly acclaimed and highly profitable Nolan trilogy when Iron Man and etc. went into production. Nolan did not want to do a shared universe. That's not his lane.

Batman/Superman was discussed several times at Warner.

Also, it made perfect sense to move the movie up in the calendar. It's about maximizing profits. You are the only one (and other fanboys) that view this as a war. Warner is approaching this as businessmen. Disney is approaching their universe as businessmen.

Marvel and DC will both make and continue to make tons of fukking money. Most people on this board will watch all of these movies. Most people are not going to miss either film.

Get back to discussing Captain America :camby:

Except for the highest grossing comic book movie of all time :sas2:

But yeah Marvel and DC don't give af if one movie is better than the other. They care about how their movies do at the Box Office. If CW and BvS make below their projected sales then the CBM genre as a whole is in trouble, which effects their shared universes and shows Superhero fatigue. Doesn't matter if Cap, Batman, Iron Man etc. is more popular than the other

That's not completely accurate. While Nolan was doing the trilogy Warner attempted Green Lantern as part of a connected universe. It didn't work to specifications.
Before they moved the date they postured that they wouldn't. They in fact initially put the movie there knowing Marvel had an untitled movie there already. They tried to start beef.
There's a term in business it's called marketshare and you want more of it than your competitors. Business by definition is a competition for consumer dollars. There are indeed winners and losers.

Uh....:patrice:

A "Justice League" movie was planned as early as '07....with nothing leading up to it.

A shared universe was never even on DC's mind. They let Nolan run one of their biggest characters for 7 years. He let them know from jump he wasn't interested in cross overs.

Meanwhile, Marvel dropped "Ironman", whose failure could've ended the entire MCU. It blew up, which lead to Phase 1, and "The Avengers".

After Nolan bounced, and Marvel made it clear a shared universe could work, then DC started building their shyt.

I don't think anybody in their right mind would argue DC doesn't wish they started their cinematic universe when Marvel did. They have such a strong track record D-tier characters like Guardians Of The Galaxy and Ant-Man are successes.

Fred.

There are no guarantees that will happen. AoU was supposed to become that and it didn't.
