YupHaven't you been trying to break into IT? I would take the alarm tech job. It might led to a career working in the internet of things.
Unless they're really old, cameras, NVRs, access control systems, alarms, medical devices, etc. are more than likely connected to a network.
You can really get exposure to technical work that can't be outsourced or automated any time soon.
As a matter of fact my IT certifications was one of the main reasons why they wanted to hire me.
