the cut off date was 3 days away. he was going to be stripped regardless. k2 asked GB if negotiations were gonna go over 15 days they need to drop the belt. canelo did what they asked. after all the shyt the WBC talked there was no way they were allowing canelo to keep the belt after 15 days. loeffler said negotiations are going great

I don't think it is about money (GGG asking for too much).
It is either about the fact they are negotiating weight (which they said wouldn't be an issue), since it such a big fight it just needs more time to negotiate to line up venue, PPV splitss, etc, and even though Canelo probably wants the fight ODH is a bit nervous of his cash cow taking a hit. My guess it is a little bit of the first and third and a lot to do with complex negotiations.
That said, we know GGG is down, if the fight doesn't come of Canelo will take the heat...and it appears rightly so.
