If it was up to me (even though you didnt ask me), Canelo vs Cotto would be on May 2nd.
Floyd should have been fighting on 4th of July Weekend imo....and that's when Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao should be fighting.
It's the biggest weekend in America and nobody is working...everyone is chilling. You know how many PPVs that would sell?
Hell, the UFC did 1.06 million with Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin on 4th of July weekend....Floyd vs Manny would EASILY do about 3/4 million on that day.

I don't know if that would have worked though. Floyd is a polarizing figure in sports. Great boxer, but a well documented piece of sh!t outside of the ring. Take into account the image he portrays, the cockiness, throwing around Money, and bein Black...............I don't think the people that pay for PPVs would ride for him. I think most are only watching now hoping to catch that moment in history when he finally loses. Besides, I can't tell if these whites hate Mexicans more than they hate us anymore. Hard to tell somedays, although I get the feeling if they had they're choice, they'd rather root for a Mexican who looks like Ginger Cinnabonelo before they would Mayweather. Mexicans feel the same, they're hoping and praying that 'pinche Mayate" loses soon, especially to one of their La Raza.
That said, as much of a piece of sh!t Mayweather is, I hope he holds on to BOTH Mexican holidays until he retires, just to spite them. I think it's hilarious.
