Amir Khan has been approached over a potential super fight with Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

But the welterweight is determined to pursue a dream clash with Floyd Mayweather after producing one of the best performances of his career against Devon Alexander on Saturday night.

The 28-year-old, from Bolton, is hoping his manager Al Haymon and Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya can finally secure him a career-defining fight with the pound-for-pound No1 in May.

Pacquiao is another option - and Khan has revealed that he has already been approach by the Filipino's advisors.



He said: "I’ll just leave it to my team. I’ve had calls from Michael Koncz, who is Manny Pacquiao’s business manager and he asked me if I would be interested in the Pacquiao fight.

"But I hope the fight with Mayweather and me does happen. He wanted me to prove myself and I think I’ve done that now. It has to happen now."

Khan is a free agent, following his unanimous points win against Alexander, which could help smooth the path to showdowns with Mayweather or Pacquiao.

"My contract with Golden Boy is up," he said. "Oscar believes he can get me the big fights and it's all about the super fights now. Fighting Floyd would make me a global superstar."
