Netflix is in a different position than the other content creators. Disney isn’t going to make a Turkish Disney series or a Brazilian witch Disney series.

Disney,WB, Amazon,Peacock are asking the world to consume Americanized(a bit British) culture which limits their growth overseas.
If Netflix becomes a reliable content maker for different countries it can continue to out pace anything the others can.
So are you thinking that the strategy is saving money on series that will command higher salaries to focus on more international content?

A Game of Thrones or Lost are usually once a decade hits.

Most prestige shows are popular among a certain subset but don’t hit those phenomenon numbers world wide.

So it makes more sense to aim for a French Breaking Bad and Spanish Mad Men that run for a few seasons then dip than hitting a cash cow like GOT that you want to run for 8 seasons if you can.

Facts. Money Heist (La casa de papel) is a prime example that fits into both categories. I saw an article the other day that said Netflix gained 10 million subscribers during this pandemic. The streaming realm is getting oversaturated, but it's not going anywhere. Tech will only continue to evolve, new consumers are being born everyday, and embracing technology at younger ages. There will always be a market for ala carte media.

Better to be upfront and just say these are meant to be just 3-4 season shows like how they are with British TV where its the creative decision. I dont even think the creators wanna make that many seasons. They just gotta end the term cancel like it was cut short

Netflix think they slick, we all know why they don't go past three seasons for most shows.

The article didn't mention that they gotta reup deals after the 3rd season so they end up paying more
That part. And this article explains more: The Slow Death of Hollywood

I mean yeah they was clearly set up for another season but they had to wrap things up even though so much shyt happened!!!:mindblown:

I thought it was a bold finale. The team was taking major Ls by the end that MacClaren had to reset the whole mission. :dead: A fourth season would have had a whole new cast.
