I'm sadden by women who are scared of arms.
Oh I am not scared of arms, I do believe that women should learn to shoot.

but I also believe that government should take charge and limit the circulation of guns and weapons. What’s happening in the States with these constant shootings is nonsensical.

Why can't I just make my mind up on individual issues?

Why is there so much of a need to pick a side?

This tribalistic mentality is why progressives lost almost all of their influence in less than 4 years.

You hijacked a party and couldn't even beat Donald Trump lol

The crown jewel of your movement lost to a Senile sexual predator in the primaries

I'd be embarrassed to call myself a progressive for real
Well said, I am conservative on certain issues, liberal on others and socialist on others.

I don’t understand the need to have a hardline political stance on everything even when it doesn’t make sense to.

This sucks for the law abiding firearm owners in Canada if they will have to turn in weapons that were legal when they were purchased.

I know there laws are strict and if you bought a weapon recently the Gov prob has a record of it. That's why if you own unregulated firearms DO NOT REGISTER them with your state.

People don’t own guns in Canada like they do in America.

most guns owned by citizens are licensed for hunting or something specific. A lot of guns acquired by gangs the underground illegal market is trafficked from le the states

Canadians don’t own guns to exert their amendment right to protect themselves against an intruder or trespassing like they do in the states. So it’s not going to be a hard policy to implement.

Meanwhile in the states the access to guns and open circulation of guns is so rampant I addition to being backed up by a 300 year old law which makes it much harder to impose. There is a culture around gun ownership in the US that there isn’t in Canada.

You will be hard pressed to see an average Canadian demanding they right to gun ownership like it is often done in the states. Canadians are socialized differently when it comes to the topic of gun control.

This story is light compared to some of the home invasions I have heard about. Gangs of armed mfs running up in ppls houses. How do you expect a man to protect his wife, or his baby girl against shyt like this?

Think about all the black men killed by white mobs that showed up at their houses in the middle of the night. Can you imagine this happening to you in front of your family?

This world is ugly. You have to do whatever it takes that gives you the best chance of survival- high capacity rifles, army tanks, rocket launchers... whatever I can get my hands on. I'm going out fighting.

Oh my fukking god. The media is so full of shyt!! That is not an "Assault Rifle".
:snoop:

That is a fukking Hi-Point!! An inexpensive semi-automatic 9mm or 45ACP carbine. Legal even in gun law heavy states like NY.

Hi-Point® Firearms: 9mm Carbines

I’m all for gun rights but it has to be done responsibly, you don’t need an assault weapon for hunting or for sports :hubie:

Exactly. These clowns don't even know what a gun is. They just want to ban anything that looks scary.
#2 reason is it's a slippery slope. First they'll ban "assault weapons", then it'll be things like bump stocks, red dots, scopes, lights, braces, trigger modifications, suppressor, then there will be more magazine restrictions only 10rd, only 5rd, then it'll be ammunition restrictions only a certain grain, no hollow points and eventually they'll raise the age of buying shotguns and rifles from 18 to a mandatory 21 like handguns, then they'll expand the restrictions on ownership from felons, people with assault or drug charges to other things that'll restrict people from legally owning. Then there will be city bans on ownership aka if you live in this city you cannot legally possess a firearm and it'll likely target inner city minorities whereas more affluent areas which are often driving distance may have free reign to ownership.

So if the kkk comes and throw a brick through your window and burn a cross in your yard while chanting "get out of here! And don't come back!"

You believe your best bet is to be compassionate and understanding and comply?

Lol I just saw that be compassionate and comply line idk why but it reminded me of this

This is fine.

But this

Isn't, it makes it an "assault weapon" .

When there's no disassembly required you just slip the glock in like you would a hand into a glove or a foot into a shoe.

I thought before a few years ago they had similar gun laws to the U.S. I know mag restrictions for rifles are a fairly recent. I see Canadians on gun videos complaining about these laws and how some had to get rid of their "high capacity" magazines.

No one thinks of Canada as a nation of gun nuts, but collectively, Canadians own over 10 million guns and this number keeps growing. Canada has been ranked 6th best country overall for gun owners by Guns & Ammo Magazine.

The dumb logic of needing an assault rifle/guns for protection is that if you ever need one for self defence, 80 percent of the time, it's too late because a Mofo already has his gun pointed at you and it's too late to reach for yours majority of the time.

Home invasion is the only scenario where you have the time to reach for your gun, which again is rare because

what if a armed burglar pops up on you while you are downstairs chilling and your gun is in the safe (as a responsible gun owner with kids should) upstairs and you can't get to it on time, what then?

In most scenarios, gun owners never get to use their gun for protection because it's already too late, danger comes fast at you and rarely gives you the time to reach for your gun and cock it. It's just dumb

This entire post is asscheeks.

People who carry guns are vigilant and observant. Most of them want to avoid conflict all together but will settle for De escalation. Anyone who has ever been to ccw has heard "if a guy bumps into you and says " what where your fukking going!" Or you step on their shoes, you don't challenge them, apologize attempt to keep it moving, make amends buy them a drink. Don't create a situation where now this guys going to want to fight you inside or follow you to your car and you may have to shoot them.

People without guns are the ones who get scared and freeze up, get snuck up on. Your standing in line playing candy crush oblivious to the world around you mean while I'm watch the person six 6 behind you get ready to snatch your phone and run out the door.

Your scenario of a home invasion sounds like it's in a studio apartment. They kick the door in and you're just sitting there. I have different rooms in my house, I have doors on my rooms and different floors in my house.

If I hear a window break or someone kick my door I'm not going to assume a vase fell or that there's an unexplained loud noise.

Cock it? I don't know if you know this. But a lot of people keep one in the chamber. And don't have safetys on their guns. I got no safety and I always have one in the chamber. Keep a spare mag on me too just in case I need to reload on someone's bytch ass.

If you have an upstairs and a downstairs at some point guns owners will have a gun for each floor. Plenty of Americans still keep shotguns or rifles (not "assault rifles") by their front door.

Do you have kids? Just because a child is in the same house as a fire arm doesnt mean the firearm needs to be locked up and stored away. In rural areas kids are shooting 22caliber rifles at at 8. Instead of avoidance theory which is keeping the firearms tucked away, hiding them, never talking about them, you can actually be a parent, talk to your child. Say " this is not a toy" "don't touch this" or when they are at the age of understanding go over fire drills and escape plans. At 10 a kid can go get the gun and bring it to you or bring it to mom. Do your kids know how to dial 911 on your phone. If they can't find your phone and you're not breathing or someone kicked in the door and your kid ran outside do they know which neighbors door to go knock on? Do they know how to set the panic alarm off on your car? Do you even have a fire extinguisher in your house? Do they know where it is? Do they know how to use it? Or do you just assume it's the task and responsibility of an adult and if an adult can't do it everyone can just die.

It's actually amazing what talking to your kids, educating them and training them can do.

22 is a standand hunting round for small game. They make 22's with magazines, stocks, long barrels so they would classify under your definition of assault weapon. You realize they civilian arms aren't fully automatic or even burst fire, but single fire only. Meaning you have to pull the trigger to shoot, every time the trigger is pulled, one bullet is fired.
