what bizarro world did I just step into? breaking bad a "tier 2" show?? wtf
The thing with The Wire is, there are so many well thought out characters that people who watch the whole series can end up taking a different thing from it.
Some people may like the streets side and how realistically it was shown, but I got how the mayor, Tommy Carcetti, worked hard to become the mayor only to find out it wasn't what is was cracked up to be when he had to (SPOILER) choose between using the budget on schools or the police. I could relate to that.
Breaking Bad is about 2 white guys who turn to drug dealing because one has a terminal illness like as if it should be OK because he's trying to put money aside for his family The story is not even that good, let alone the GOAT show. And people rave about it.
It's a good show, but it's a tier two show.
It's definetly not up there with the GOATS: The Wire, Sopranos or Game of Thrones.
Although, Gus is one of the best characters of all time.

I don't mind people putting those shows above BB, but BB is on the exact same tier imo. There is a reason it has a 9.5/10 on IMDB. Comparatively the wire has a 9.3/10, Sopranos a 9.2/10, Game of Thrones 9.5/10. I feel like people forget how good breaking bad was since the show has been over and done with. Ozymandias is one of the most incredible episodes of television ever created. BB wasn't censored that much, I mean, for fukks sake it's a show about making methamphetamine.I can't put it up there with The Wire, Sopranos or GOT. Those are Top Tier shows.
Maybe I'm biased towards pay channels. In fact I know I'm biased towards shows on pay channels because they don't have to deal with censorship.
wtf how about you finish the series before making a thread. Idk what "loopholes" your alluding to, but i'm sure they'll get answered in the final season.I'm in the middle of Season 4 and while the show is intriguing and has a very complex storyline, I find myself getting frustrated at all the loopholes in this show. There's so many things that don't really add up and it can be down right annoying getting through an episode because of how much this show reeks of white privilege. It's cool but the way people were talking about it over the past couple of years, I was expecting way more, especially to be in 4 seasons. I started watching it at the end of September on Netflix and binge watch a few episodes here and there. I'm not saying it's bad, but I'm saying its way less than what I expected. So far 3 out of 5 stars generously.
And right there is why I can never put it up there with some of the other shows mentioned already. You have a show like The Wire that's about the different yet connected facets of the city of Baltimore. A show like the Sopranos about family: specifically two types of families and how its main character juggles them. Every single episode of Mad Men has a different theme so I'd be here all day talkng about it. Then you have Breaking Bad..."a show about making methamphetamine". Breaking Bad was a fun, entertaining show, but it was ultimately a pretty shallow experience. I've heard cases being made for it being a study on morality yet the show endsI mean, for fukks sake it's a show about making methamphetamine.
sopranos, GOT, OZ, The Wire,Rome, Deadwood,Justified, house of cards, dexter, sherlock, boardwalk empire are all better than BB
