We believe that Socrates and Confuscios existed

Yet all thier texts were written years after their deaths. Socrates descriptions come from Plato

We believe the Trojan war happened. But because of the writings on Egyptian walls. We believe the accounts of Marco Polo.

Black Holes were believed in because of math not because of observation. Dark matter is accepted but only accounts for “what we can’t explain” :jbhmm:

We believe that other humans have consciousness but cannot verify that

We believed in atoms for centuries but never saw them until recently

People believe in many things

So interesting to show why reading is important

exodus 21:7 is from the Torah (the Old) - in those days there were no credit cards only debts. So people gave their boys and girls away if they could not pay off (remeber also there weren’t as many humans in zero BC as there are now lol)

It was custom so Moses had to lay down Gods rule that if you have to give daughter for debt she cannot be used like a man. There has to be the promise of marriage and must be cared for and if you can’t maintain that she must be let. Debt cleared since you won’t do that.

Agai Exodus 35:2 no working on Sabbath (Sunday) was Torah rule but we all know Jesus declared the Torah rules and customs no longer apply since he’s here. So many passages in New Testament (Luke) are him healing and admonishing people and prophets and holier than thou for being mad at him for healing and doing work on Sabbath being he is doing what he has to do, not upholding old law to look good

The dead pig thing were rules given to the Israelites in Israel as they were Gods chosen people and the pigs carried disease.

And chosen people does not mean what you think it means. It means “chosen to create the land of his return and keep it around” as in “do the dishes and vacuum the house until I get home” not “chosen to rule or stand over everyone” and no, they don’t get any extra allowance or gifts for it.

Now, do you see how unknowing or unlearning can recontextualize ANYTHING 😳

So chattel slavery?

Leviticus is also part of the Torah. Why so vehemently applied if the customs no longer apply?

No. Chattel slavery is where an owner can treat an enslaved person as a piece of property like a house or a car and they have zero rights, which is essentially saying this person is not a human.

Torah era slavery was used in war, poverty or extreme debt. People were entered into servitude or voluntarily went to clear it up, but this was not for infinite amount of time. And when people started abusing it the rules were made (6 years, can’t use women like men, abuse or inhumane treatment meant instant release, once released they can live amongst ppl with full right etc)

Remeber this is a time with no credit cards, gold, anything. To this day we use our bodies to “clear our debts”

Now for Leviticus you’re talking about homosexuality. Leviticus is often mentioned but the New Testament also speak on homosexuality: Corinthians and Romans (NT) both speak on men who have sex with other men and how that turns you away from Him

Yes we can eat pigs now. Jesus himself by his words (quoted words which are heightened as being words from his lips) : “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.”

He’s going in on those priests who keep trying to keep the old laws while not doing what he’s telling them to do now

Matthew 19:4–6

Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

This is the basis of marriage according to Jesus

Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites, 10 thieves, the greedy, drunkards, revilers, robbers—none of these will inherit the kingdom of God.

This is what Christians believe.

The thread isn’t whether you can be JEWISH and Gay.

You can keep all those Jewish “laws” for Jews who don’t believe in the “New Testament’s teachings of Jesus. Jesus fulfilled the law and showed the error in the Jewish leaders understanding of scripture/and the hypocrisy in their society.

Such as…. John 8:7

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Pretty much debunks the whole video you posted :hubie:

Can people be greedy and still be Christian? Can people be vain enough to get plastic surgery and still be Christian? Can people watch porn and still be Christian? Can people be lazy and still be Christian?

What’s the overwhelming evidence for the Christian God. Name one piece of evidence
It’s all around you, but unfortunately “sin” makes people blind, stupid, and ignorant (dumb) to the TRUTH that has been revealed. Even if the Christian God spoke to you personally you’d still find a way to intellectually dismiss it because your heart is full of iniquity, pride, and utter delusion.
