nah

the internet tried to make it into an old school/new school thing simply because he didnt like Nas.

thats why they conveniently ignored that DMX was in his top 5 along with 50 cent and others.

and the only reason he "went in" on nas, is because somebody was trying to force Nas on him. basically what people do on here.\

and he aint lying. nas been outdated for the longest and his catalog is certainly overrated.

Nobody tried to force Nas on him. Lonzo kept making statements about Nas. Breh said nobody listens to Nas any more, which of course is false because you can check IG feeds from his peers bumping Nas.

Saying someone is outdated or overrated is a matter of opinion because he can only speak for himself and the people who agree with his statement. Doesn't make it fact because there is a counter to his statement and people who agree with that counter argument.

Wtf was hit or miss? He had one weak album nastadaums and one good album I am with a bunch of hits. Not to mention plenty of great features. DMX was never on nas level

"i am" had 1 hit and a rap city classic. where did the "bunch of hits" come from??

IWW blew him up but alot of people hated it.
the firm album was a disaster.
"i am" had a gang of detractors but was a success. altho in comparison, it faded kinda quick and didnt hit the X and jigga mark that he was clearly aiming for when recording it.
nastradamus - you already know
qbs finest was ignored.
his buzz was pretty much dead until jay dissed him. and jay only dissed him like that with no backup because he thought that nas was finished. that should tell you all you need to know right there.
after the rivalry with jay fizzled out, its been pretty much just nas die-hards bumpin his music like that from then on out,

nas never came close to DMX level of popularity at any point of his career.

:what:

clearly, you didnt hear the audio when he made those comments.

Lonzo Ball speaking on Nas isn't an isolated event. There's several instances where he spoke against Nas:

Lonzo Ball and Nas probably are not fans of each other

Two years later:

Lonzo Ball Says Future Has More Hits Than Nas, Hip-Hop Twitter Sounds Off

^^^ this is why people made this an "old school" argument because Lonzo introduced it by suggesting Nas wasn't "real Hip Hop" and Migos was "real Hip Hop".

:why:

this stuff came afterwards. why are you posting chit from 2 years later????

the point is, it started from a convo where somebody was trying to force nas on him. he didnt just wake up one day with a vendetta against Nas. LOL.

The Sports Illustrated article has the initial comments from Lonzo, which set the whole thing off. This was 2017. The interview with Big Boy's Neighborhood was two years later.

NOBODY pressed him or even asked his opinion on Hip Hop. He made the statements on his folks Facebook show in 2017 saying Migos was real Hip Hop and Nas was outdated.

Breh, the SI article is the one that covered what he said on the Facebook show. It's one in the same.

It's literally, the second paragraph in the article:

"Don't nobody listen to Nas no more," Lonzo said on the family's new Facebook television show Ball in the Family. "Real hip-hop is Migos, Future."

What X and Jigga marks was he aiming for exactly? The bulk of the album was produced by Nas's usual team of producers. The singles were produced by DJ Premier ("Nas Is Like") and The Trackmasters ("Hate Me Now"). DMX is featured on one song and even that song wasn't a single to capitalize off Belly.

Nas opened with 470K in his first week. The album went double platinum that year. There weren't any runaway smash singles to push the album, but it still did great in spite of 13 songs leaking months before it was released.

so basically, the situation started exactly how i said it did.

but for some reason, you felt the need to waste my time going around in circles, just to get back to point A and you still cant admit that youre wrong.

this is why you stay getting young bul'd.

this was supposed to be Nas' "hard knock life" type run.

it locked him into that 3rd wheel spot for a minute tho. i can say that much.

"hate me now" was the smash single.

i was a nas fan in those days actually.
when i said qbs finest was ignored, i wasnt speaking for myself. i had it in heavy rotation the spring after it dropped.

but thats how those albums were generally received.

The situation started nowhere close to how you said it did. He came out of left field with an opinion on Nas. Why are you in denial and leap frogging over facts?

You are waaaay WRONG. If anything, I Am... was supposed to be Nas's Life After Death. There's actually interviews of Nas talking about how he was inspired by "My Downfall" which is evident in "Hate Me Now". Life After Death was obviously a double album and Nas planned I Am... to be a double album that had an afterlife element in its concept.

You don't know what you're talking about. Don't ever bring up anybody getting bul'd or admitting wrong again. It's happening to you in this very thread.

I really don't care about your lingo.

Breh, nobody argued with Lonzo in the original video. This was not on Big Boy's neighborhood. This was Family Ball. It was a discussion among him and his family members not some radio interview.

And I'm telling you that he was out here trying to compete with HKL. There's no evidence of that.
