I think Stack wrote Ballin rather than Max. And nikkas outside of NY didn't care about no damn Max B if that's what you mean. Saying Jim success is a byproduct of other people, despite us seeing him do it before and after those people is crazy:comeon:

Especially if we gonna pretend Cam isn't a byproduct of Jay-Zs Rocafella chain. And the production team Jay-Z and Dame helped build at Rocafella. I don't think Cam proved otherwise unlike Jim. I know people seem to think Cam was the engine. But I was a Juelz stan and didn't get the Cam hype . I assumed his fans liked him more for comedy reasons from the quotables they used to post. And yes I did listen to Jim Jones more than Cameron. I think some of y'all want to rewrite history like Cam was some highly respected emcee out here:mjlol:

No he was not Jadakiss,no he was not Fab. He had a cult following based on his "aura" from what I can tell:scust:
Cam was more respected than fab. Made better songs and could rap just as well.

Fab was just doing a cosplay of big l tho. Can rapped differently.

This is literally the same sh*t I said on here a couple weeks ago or whatever.

Jim was the one that Cam was going to in the late 90's and early 00's for help with street sh*t. That was Jim's thing forever. Most of us uptown knew him from just being one of those active dudes who always ran up on people, or handled sh*t for other people when they had problems. That's why Kay Slay (RIP) used to always tell people that Capo was official and not to f*ck with Jim because he was family. He was known for running with a million grimy dudes putting in work.

He was a street dude that they turned into a rapper to get money. A lot of people try to do research on YT, but that ain't a history book. You had to be outside or from uptown. Everybody knew about Jim back then and it wasn't for no music.
They try to rewrite history. Just caught the nikka ain’t maino don’t mean he p*ssy.

Like for instance I don’t think havoc or P did close to the street shyt Jim did but is respected more lol.

shyt probably even the lox.

We all know a Jim, yea he might get knocked out but he on that at all times unfortunately gets himself in over his head lol

Exactly.

As far as Mobb, Redman walked in Queensbridge alone at night and saw them and their crew sitting out there and pressed them about getting at Keith Murray, and none of them did sh*t. He was solo and told them they need to chill and they all just nodded and did nothing.

Murray told that story and then they asked Havoc about it in XXL, and he was like, "Yeah, Redman came to see us". HAHA! Hav and P ain't street dudes, at all. But people act like they are.

Ngga. What side of the argument are you on?!? :laff::dead:

Yes Ngga, yes. Thanks!

‘Acting like he was freaky zeeky’. Ngga she STARTED as freaky zeeky. The street muscle and high jinks—-as Envy just stated for those who needed that co-sign—-but then made the most of every small opportunity and leveled up to where for a brief time he equaled or surpassed Cam. As you just so eloquently stated

Nggas be so pressed to argue they switch sides mid way :bryan:
You 1000% right he was the og freaky. Obviously not as tough don’t still lol.

And he always had goons on call to hold him down.

Even when cam let him get jumped, he took the beating and made a call and had tru life run up there lol.

The shyt in Detroit where trick trick got shot.

Jim and said cam use to have him go up and collect the upfront money at shows and then cam just not show up and them keep the bread and it lead to nikkaz trying to kidnapped Jim and him having to fight his way out lol.

Club fights over cam ect.

Jim brought the goons around and cam 1000% benefited from it and even loosely repped it

your whole argument is that cam didnt want jim to become successful in his own right but jim became successful in spite of cam and took everybody by surprise and then he surpassed cam, which is bullshyt

cam PUT jim in position and invested into him as his artist.. so him becoming successful was never some huge reach that nobody ever saw happening

so yes, jim was successful in his own right but even then he was NEVER bigger than cam.. your response is "well it shouldnt have even been close in the first place", thats your opinion but youre wrong because anybody following dipset during those times knew juelz had the potential to pass cam up 10 times over and jim had the potential to stand on his own two feet in his own right which he did, because it was set up for them to all be in positions of power where cam could fall back and let them cook which is every bosses dream.. cam has ONE platinum album he was never a huge selling artist but YOU painted it like he went from selling 10 million albums to being completely irrelevant while jim jones became the one selling 10 million albums while being the sole face of dipset, if even at my low point im still selling more than you at your peak thats not some gotcha

and during the times when jim jones was a nobody, cam was barely going gold in an era where gold was a flop.. he wasnt some huge success at all, when he went to rocafella and finally got a platinum album is when jim jones also began making a name for himself and the shyt you bolded began to unfold and that is the beginning of dipset when the rest of the world discovered them, where you tried to make it seem like jim was still a weed carrier

So most reason nikkaz think cause you ain’t a leader you p*ssy. The leaders on tough fr cause of the Jim jones crash outs behind them.

You might know since you was in the mix. Who did can have run into Sony to get him released lol

HE DIDN'T MAKE IT SOUND
LIKE THAT AT ALL...

JIM WAS TALKING ABOUT
HE WAS THE BRAINS AND
FASHION BEHIND DIPSET ON THAT POD.

ALL CAM DID WAS POINT OUT
THAT nikkaS WERE ALREADY POPPING
AND JIMMY LATCHED ON LIKE A GROUPIE
OFFERING HIS CRIB AS A HANGOUT SPOT
FOR THE GROUP

I do agree that by hood standards if you come around after 13 yea you done missed the whole ‘growing up’ stage.

But @ the bolded is Cam being Cam. How you call a ngga a groupie at age 15,16. That’s literally how you make friends :russ:

Cam dismissive af. Even the dismissive way he mentions Jim grandmother dying. I’ve seen these types of lopsided friendshipa, hood nggas tend to expect a certain level of feelings/emotion and when other nggas ain’t built that way its like oil and water. Cam is a lot like jay Z in that regard.

Let’s not down play with jim did. He was looked at like the 8th man on the roster rapping wise.

Funny nikka on skits and wild stupid nikka. Remember they have a video riding in a car and cam just sonning him.

The cam off after purple haze and Jim come up is something nobody expected ever.

Jim went free dirty nikka who can’t rap and goof ball

To putting out massive hits, literally setting trends in fashion, Wayne literally copying how he dress, putting out fire mixtapes and albums.

While cam literally gets punked by tru life, sonned by 50 and goes away.

Comes back puts no real money into his career and puts out mediocre shyt. The beats Jim was getting was available to cam I’m sure. But he feel off with the rest of the roc a fella artist after the breakup. Outside of Kanye

This downplaying of Jimmy crazy

i will never understand throwing rational thinking out because you don’t like someone

jim been popping for over 22 years and still going

no he not ranked higher than Cam. But if we keep it a buck Cam is an acquired taste. If you don’t like his music. you really hate it. Ain’t no on the fence. Some people really think he a terrible rapper.

cam in my top 10 but I totally understand if people don’t get his music

Now back to Jim. Dude was directing their videos and everything. Cam tripping. Jim was in Detroit politicking with Blade and the street lords working with them. Jim was connecting with hoods of these cities reppin Dipset. I don’t fukk with Jim music but the places he was at in Detroit showed me an official dude. Even gave Trick Trick a L

THEY WERE 19 IN 1995
WHEN THEY STARTED HANGING WITH JIM.
COC WAS ALREADY POPPING
AT THAT TIME

JIM WAS LIVING IN THE BRONX
WHEN HE WAS 13
SO WHILE THEY MAY HAVE MET
THEY WERENT HANGING.

His improvement as a rapper(or his improvement in ghostwriters) and his popularity as an artist are two different arguments. He was always the 3rd most prominent member in the group regardless of rapping skills and was the lead artist on some of the groups most prominent singles. His place in the Dipset hierarchy was never in question even during a time where JR Writer, Hell Rell and 40 Cal were relevant.

His personality and antics and overall presentation helped him it didn't hinder him, and his lyrics was never trash, On My Way To Church was a great debut album, his verse on Come Home With Me is the best verse on the whole song. So no, his "come up" was never some reach. Also, he dropped 1 massive hit, 2 if you wanna count Pop Champagne which was one of the biggest songs in the city as a Ron Browz solo song before Jim hopped on it and took it for himself.

Him and Cam both have their fair share of Ls and Tru Life literally had his chain so it's not really any point of comparing who had more embarrassing moments. But at the end of the day Cam could put out bullshyt for the rest of his career and nothing Jim Jones drops as an old man will ever be enough to surpass Cam's legacy from C.O.C. to SDE to Killa Season. Even the Vado era I think he was dropping better music than Jim, and then when that ended his music quality dipped and sure you can say from the ages of 40 to 50 Jim makes better music but at that point it's like who cares? Plus Cam still raps better to this day. :manny:

Dumbass comparison, this isnt a regular nobody boxing the greatest boxer of all time.. its two nikkas in the same group who had been strategically placed as peers by the leader because the leader wanted to elevate him to that status and eventually paid off until one nikka started feeling himself and split away.

I literally grew up on Dipset, had Diplomatic Immunity and all the mixtapes in REAL TIME. Jim Jones might have been looked at as the random crazy looking nikka during the Confessions and SDE days(and even then he was featured on both albums).. but by the Dipset era starting in 02-03 everybody knew who Jim Jones was because Cam was pushing his members.

Even if he wasn't as popping and Juelz and Cam at that point, he still had his own influence, a lot of people in NYC was influenced to join a gang because of him, nikkas were using "kufi smack" as slang because of him, Crunk Muzik and Certified Gangstas are Dipset staples and those were the 2 singles from his debut album. You acting like this nikka was Freekey Zekey status and he wasn't.

Jim Jones was the Fredo Santana of Dipset. It's not a perfect comparison because Fredo was more of a real nikka than Jones ever was and Jones became bigger than Fredo ever did but, the comparison I see is they were both always in the background/in the cut and that made people interested.

I forgot how much I liked this song.
