That's the second time you posted that picture fam. But we can agree to disagree. I guess you only took one picture your whole life and don't account for angles, lighting and aging. Hell, Jomo in the picture you posted is clearly a year or so older than the Jomo in the picture from CAM's album.

IM NOT DISPUTING WHERE
THE PIC CAME....

WHERE DOES CAM SAY THATS JIMMY
IN THE BOOKLET?

NONE OF THOSE SONGS
WERE AS BIG AS TOUCH IT OR NOT.

JIMMY LITERALLY ONLY CHARTED
2 TIMES IN HIS LIFE.
BALLIN AND POP CHAMPAGNE

those songs were hot in the streets i guess (NOT babygirl....lol) but ballin was his first HIT, and that isn't very arguable. 50 literally told you the play from his own words

@Ozymandeas post was spot on. What yall are failing to factor in is Jim wasnt even supposed to be graded on that type of superstar scale. He was a weed carrier turned rapper and yall are acting like he needs to be graded on a Taylor swift scale.

Also it’s revisionist to look back at that timeframe of mixtapes and smack dvds etc yet you’re pulling up album charts to validate who was hot. That’s not how it worked.

According to the numbers, Dipset only dropped 1 modest selling album. The numbers won’t tell you it was a movement that defined a whole era and they had a dozen mixtapes. According to the numbers, state property didn’t do anything. It won’t tell you about the clothing, the movies, the cult following, the hot 97 freestyles, how they accidentally made Cassidy, etc.

So yea street fame mattered back then and Jim was on his way to a solid career even without ballin. 1) Much bigger rappers than him lnever had a Summer wit miami. 2) He introduced the world to Max B. 3) The fashion influence the biker gear, blood/gang ties, chains, thermals, etc.—-wayne bit all that and then the world bit Wayne :umad:

Ballin was just a surprise mainstream hit that gave him even more fame.

If Jim Jones is from the Bronx why did he never claim it? He’s always claimed Taft projects

This isn’t uncommon a good portion of people from Harlem and the Bronx have a connection to both through school, family members, going back and forth. If Jim is from Weeks Ave that shyt is literally like 4 stops to Harlem on the D Train…less than 15 minutes. First he was from Jerome Ave now Weeks Ave :russ:

I’ve never heard of Jim being from there…Weeks Ave is Hell Rell’s block

Cam act like his part of Harlem is the only valid part :dahell:

So Jim has street hits and cam had mainstream actual hits. That is literally my point and 50's point. 50 saw that Jim wanted the success that cam had and wanted to be that, and preyed on his jealously, and obviously it worked. He fell for the play.

You trying to make shyt like Ryder Muzik and "vampire life" clothing a big deal is pretty weak breh :mjlol:

Yea. Tony Yayo would’ve loved to have Jim’s career and Jim’s influence on hip hop culture. Jim had very minimal rap skills. For him to drop all those records is a testament to his work ethic. Cam should be proud. He had a good eye bringing in Juelz and Jim as they helped keep Dipset alive. He could’ve signed a bunch of busters that no one wanted to listen to.

Did Cam have a mainstream hit bigger than Ballin:gucci:

Cam is good friends with Dame Dash and a fake pastor. But we going to pretend hes an upstanding character who treats people good lol. Not saying he does or doesnt. But that shyt Jim did with 50 was so out of left field based on how hard he repped Diplomats, I have to consider he may have had a reason:mjlol:

And irrc there was talk about Cam hating on Juelz too and holding him back. But tbh i dont remember if that was only from fans or if Juelz said something. May have been like with Young Dro,where fans didnt realize it was drugs and not their bosses holding them back out of jealousy.

Mase and Cam are two of my old school favorites, I grew up on thier music. I wore basketball jersies to look like Mase man.

They are both clowns, neither of them are tough. They have done all kinds of embarrassing shyt, and that's ok, but to turn it into this moral battle of who is right and wrong is just foolishness lol

This video not being mentioned enough lol

how about Mase and the tranny? How about Mase being a fukking minister?
That’s when Jim jones and Julez kicked cam out of the dipset after he getting stole on by true life and fronted like it didn’t happen. I remember they went on hot97 with miss info talking about it would’ve never happened if Jim was there. And camron was exiled from dipset until further notice 😂.

It's the best part, lol. Most iconic too. I'm from the same block. 39th.

200.webp

But back to Jim. He's mentioned being born in the Bronx before, but he was mainly raised by his grandmother in Taft. So that's why he claims Harlem and East Side, all day. He was brought up on that side since he was a kid.
